What Funny Thing Does Your Pet Do???

I have a similar question... who is better trained, the pet or the human? One of my cats, when he wants to go outside, comes and finds me, standing at the door of my computer room, meowing.... so I get up and let him out.

When he wants back in, he comes to the window of that room, meowing.... and I get up and let him in.

So... who is better trained, the cat, for telling me he wants in or out, or the human, for obeying him?

My dog doesn't bark. EVER. When we adopted him, we asked the vet if he even has a voice box... he does! But he doesn't bark... he TALKS. We've never once heard him bark in the 3 years we've had him, but he talks when he's excited, like when my fiance gets home from work or it's time for him to eat :)

our labradoodle opens most doors, including sliding screen doors! We have to be vigilant in locking the doors.

Occasionally, in the a.m., I'll let the dogs out the bedroom end of the house & then hop in the shower. I can't tell you how many times I've stepped out of the bathroom to find the dogs waiting for me! OMG, it's crazy....especially in the winter. There was 1 morning this past winter where the dogs had been running in/out of the house....dragging snow/ice chunks all thru the living/dining rooms & down the hallway. He had opened the screen door on the back porch & the french door in the dining room!

Both of our dogs know which room to find each person...."go get Justin" & they go to Justin's room. "Bosco's out" & they look out back. "Neeko's out" & they look over to the side yard. It's sooo funny to watch!

Our Heinz 57 loves playing with my sister's wiener dog. Our labradoodle holds back somewhat....until bedtime & then he uses his paw to pet the little one! It is sooo sweet to watch! He raises his paw up/down & pets Beemer right on the head & down his back. The 1st time it happened, Beemer was on the bed with my sis & we thought he wanted to "shake hands" or "high 5".....& then we realized what he was trying to do. lol!

I have a teacup chihuahua that only turns to the right. And she spins before she does anything. It's weird. We've held treats down for her on the left side, she'll turn her head slightly to the left, then spin all the way around to the right and take it. We say she's OCD.

My mom used to let one of our dogs sleep in my room at night (They are outside barn dogs, but I was going through a phase where I couldn't be alone at night... I was 14. Lol). The dog, Nikki, would lay next to me until I fell asleep and then steal my pillow! One night I pretended to be asleep because I wanted to know why my pillow was not under my head when I woke up every morning. She waited until she thought I was sleeping and then she would, very slowly, pull the pillow out from under my head with her teeth! She would then lay down on her back, feet in air, with her head on the pillow! She also LOVES licorice. She will go crazy over it.

And that's just Nikki. I have 3 dogs, 1 house cat, some crazy barn cats, and a bunch of cows. All of them, even the cows, have their own funny things that they do. :)

I nick named my cat 'Alarm Clock Kitty.'

She wakes me up at exactly the same time every morning. Dunno how she knows what time it is, but it's always within 2 minutes of the exact same time, every morning.

If I ignore her, she walks around my head on the pillow or goes to the night stand and kicks things. If I shoo her away, she sits 2 inches from my nose and stares, waiting.

It's sooooo annoying on your day off, but has saved me from being late to work a number of times!

Our 3 dogs have their own language. I love it because there is a specific bark or whine for what they want. The most specific bark is the one when the bobcat is out back. We know just by hearing them it is the bobcat. There is another bark when someone is on our property.

The funniest is the poodle who thinks the world revolves around him. As I work (even right now) he is snuggled in my lap. If I make him get down, he cries.

He also humps the other 2 dogs we have often. They'll be out in the yard and we'll see him hanging on to the back side of either the girl or boy cocker spaniel. He has been fixed and we don't understand his "need" to hump. THe oldest cocker humps his toy...same toy he's hd since we got him 12 yrs ago.

She puts a webkinz under her and she humps it into submission. She is fixed and old, so we ignore her.

My in-law's (who we are currently living with) have a maltese that plays tag with my 1 year old. He will prance up to her, wait for her to chase him, then take off about 3 feet and wait for her to catch up to him again. She (my DD) makes it even funnier because both arms are straight up in the air while she's chasing after him, screeching and laughing hysterically the whole time.

The maltese also 'meows' when he's begging for food. (which mil usually gives in to. lol.)

They have another dog that gets sooo excited for treats that he will spin around in circles. "SIT!" ~Spinspinspinspinspin laydownandbeg! "Nooo.... SIT!" ~Spinspinspinspinspinspinspin "SIT!" SPINSPINSPIN!!!! "...Spinaroony...." SPINSPINSPIN "good boy!" *give treat* -Not the best training in the world.. but he will sit as long as you aren't holding a treat! lol.

Now my ferret... HE was a character. I named him Spaz; he definitely lived up to his name! I would pull him out and let him run around and first thing he always did was run into the bathroom to steal a toilet paper roll. He would actually open the cupboard to get to it!

Aaand... 'My' horse (actually my aunt's... but I was the only one who ever rode him) would hum when he was happy. We would be plodding along checking fence, and his head would start bobbing and he would start this really weird sounding horsey hum. It was always the same tune too!

"Bugs" our cat is gone now, but a few years ago he was sleeping with our grown daughter and morning after morning her radio would come on as her alarm. She would reach over and hit the snooze button. After several days of this, the radio came on at 6am and Bugs walked across the pillow and tapped the snooze button with his paw! He started doing it so often she ended up late for work a couple times. He also liked to sleep on our chest while we reclined on the couch. He wanted your face to be in his face and if you turned your head, he would reach up and gently turn your head back with his paw. I wish we had video of him doing it. Sure miss him!

I don't have a pet (nor should I after killing 16 cats and one dog I gave up on the whole institution) but my cousin has the funniest cat. When her and her husband were dating her cat use to steal dollar bills out of his wallet. she also has this bowl on the table, and her cat is always leaving things in it, during the fall she had it full of decorative leaves and her cat brought in a leaf from the outside and put it in the bowl!

my cat, Rover, is Mr personality. He thinks he's human or something. Since he was a kitten, he loves car rides, I drove an older Jetta, he sat on the dash. Go through a drive thru, he would try to get in at the girl in the window to romance her. He's obsessed with opening doors, cupboards, and drawers. He gets them open, but it takes several tries & he makes a racket doing it. He walks on a leash. He's scared of crows & ducks- we used to take him for cat walks at the park & he would cower if he saw them! If someone cracks a beer, he's right there, and will lick the rim of the can for some. He eats fruit and juices, like tomato & orange. (he's healthy, just weird) He loves people! especially guys, bit of a mans man, my little guy. He even let our other two cats "nurse" on him when they were kittens :) His name is Rover, b/c when I got him, the kids that had him thought he was ugly! They said, ohh, thats ROVER, you sure you want him? LOL He's my Rover Romantic. Very special cat.

i have a young dog, when little, he loved to sleep on his back thus showing his junk, he still does it. oh and he smiles, he'll raise his lips and show his pearly whites, as if he got lucky or something.

i also have a couple of cats who will paw scratch the water surface in their water bowl before drinking.

our cat can open the sliding screen door and has climbed up to the top of it on more than one occasion (you can see the claw marks all the way up). She is also the only cat I've met who can climb *down* a ladder as easily as climbing up it, and she likes to sleep in her kitty crate as long as it's up high somewhere (right now it's on top of our stacked washer/dryer). She has also managed to open the door that leads from the garage to the kitchen but I've never seen *how* she does it - I just know that on a couple of occasions where we didn't lock the door before leaving the house, we came home to an open door between the garage and kitchen, and a cat on the sofa!

My cat sits on the keyboard when i try to type and "baths" my arm when i am using the mouse. He also sits on the edge of the tub when i take a bath...and licks the water of off my arm.

I can't really classify this as funny....but thought I would throw it out there. Because, honestly, just today I thought I would ask a similar pet question...wondering if other people have horny pets.

Our 3 year old, neutered, female dog humps her bed several times a day. She carefully drags it to a certain corner, flips it between her hinds legs and then starts humping. And then falls onto the floor in a blissful, post-orgasmic state of exhaustion. And lays dreamily on her bed. And often gives herself oral stimulation, which is loud and difficult to ignore. She only stops if I look at her. No one else.

So, my kids wanted chinchillas, we opted for 2 males to make sure there would not be future generations. And the young small male mounts the older, larger male from the rear and they go at it on a daily basis.

Do your animals behave this way?

Our dog sneezes when she has to go out or she wants a treat. Plus her favorite treats are chick peas.

My cat, Lucy, likes to play fetch. She has these fabric balls that she chases, picks up in her mouth and brings back to us. If I'm busy, I'll throw her the ball but not wait for her to bring it back. When Lucy realizes I'm gone, she'll take her ball and leave it some place where I'll find it with my feet: in my tennis shoe, in front of the piano pedals or at the bottom of the staircase.

I hung a bell from the back door knob (bells ward off negative energy), and our other pit bull rings it with his nose when he needs to go out to potty.

My daughter's kitten likes to perch on top of the dog kennel and swat at the pits when they go in and out of it.

One of our cats likes to sleep with her head in my armpit.

Our dog talks back.... when he gets in trouble he is just like a kid...talks back and continues to do it until I tell him what a teenage drama king he is... He eats comforters, uses his paws like hands and will wrap them around you in a hug or grip your arm. We do not take him out in the car much but if you say let's go bye bye he is out there. The kids play hide and seek with him or just tell him to find one of them and he does...he does so much more but that is what I can think of at the moment.....lol
