Probably not for THAT long, but you can try it in a bag of rice for a week. Take the phone apart and put the parts in a bag of rice, but I suspect its a lost cause.

My iPhone responded to rice in a bag, it was working 24 hours later, I dropped it in the toilet. While it was out I was able to purchase the insurance since I had the phone for less than 30 days. Apple has a new plan that allows for two incidents of accidental damage.

Well.....yes there is. Remove battrey...tupperware bowl full of uncooked rice....submerge phone and battrey in rice....cover bowl tightly with lid and burp top....if no top...cover with surran wrap tightly. Leave in there undisturbed for a week. This is what Verizon told me...and lo and behold...it works...but my phone wasn't submerged for very long. Good luck!

Rice. Uncooked - will absorb the moisture.

The rice thing is no joke, but it may have been in the water too long. Worth a try though. Put it in a bag of RAW rice for a couple of days. The rice will absorb all the water. Take off the cover as much as possible (open the battery etc.) so that all the water can find it's way out.

This method saved my son's Leapster Explorer last year!

That is a long time. The thing to do is put it in rice for a couple days, BUT that is if it gets briefly wet, I believe. It would not hurt to try, though!

I have gotten my phone wet a couple times (once dropped it in the sink, the other time I spilled a drink on it) and rice always worked for me... but never saturated for over an hour...

That sounds like something my husband would do. Even if you didn't buy the insurance it should have a warranty. The only thing you can do is dry out the phone and if it doesn't work, take it in and hope for the best.
With the iPhone, they use a test to see if the phone has been in water. If they detect any signs that the phone got wet, then I think the warranty is void.

Yikes!!!

I think the best you can do is take out the battery and dry and dry it out asap and the insides. I think probably a blow dryer might help, and after it's completely dry you can try turning it on. I have dropped mine in buckets of water before and this helped but an hour is a long time to be in the pool... I hope you did get the insurance after all!

Probably too late.. if it does start working again, it will probably die out soon.

This happened to one of daughter's IPhone's and a Razor phone. With the razor phone, we took it apart and kept it sealed in rice a couple of days. It worked about 2 weeks after that and then died.

The IPhone was under the AppleCare we bought and she got a new one at a much lower cost than the sticker price in the stores.

Good luck!

This kind of thing happens alot and you can google it and find all kinds of ways to dry out your cell phone. I know because my son's new(!) cell phone went through the laundry and yes, we tried to save it and no it didn't work after that.
