I am needing to loose around 30 pounds to be back to my ideal weight of around 120. Has anyone tried or had success w/ Weight Watchers? I was considering joining b/c it kinda fits my lifestyle w/ the points and they have a lot of pre-made meals in the frozen section so I figured you can go wrong. Just wondering if its worth the time and money! Thanx

Weight Watchers has worked great for me. I have used their program for almost 2 years. I lost a total of 65 pounds and have had no trouble keeping it off. I went from a size 18/20 to a size 8/10.
The thing about W.W. that works for me is the flexability. No food is "forbidden". It teaches you portion control and how to make the best choices. I just learned a new way to think about food.
Its not fast weight loss, but it is something that I can live with the rest of my life so the weight stays off.

Good Luck---

I lost 50 pounds with Weight Watchers and highly recommend it. I joined online which is cheaper and found the resources to be helpful. The weight comes off slowly, which is the right way and it's a lifestyle change that can be maintained for the rest of your life. Good Luck!

It depends on your personality. WW didn't work for me as well as a personal trainer. If you are highly motivated by group meetings and your own personal log of points, then WW is for you. If you're like me and need someone to get in your face, then WW is not for you.

I tried and migrated part way back. I had about 15 to lose so not alot but the discipline is important. I am just starting LA Weight Loss now, they have a special deal going on in Lewisville. More expensive than WW but I have heard good things and know several that have had good results.

Hi C.! I'm a fellow scrapbooker too! :) I live in the Keller area if you ever feel like coming around, let me know! :)

As far as WW goes, I tried a meeting and to me, it seemed like a waste of time. However, I LOVE LOVE LOVE the online WW. The first and foremost realization that you have to have, however, is that YOU CAN DO THIS! (that and a ton of self discipline). I started tracking EVERY single thing I ate for a week... just get in the habit of recording it. I followed it closely -- and changed my diet and my family began eating healthier too. If you do join and need a buddy, let me know. I have about 1/2 as much as you to go but we could still root each other on! :) The bulletin boards online offer a wealth of information and if I have a question, there's probably already a post I can look up the answer on. Also, if you are on WW then you can utilize www.dwlz.com Dottie's Weight Loss Zone. She's taken hundreds of restaurants and their dishes and put them into point values... so that helped too.

It's worth it if you're committed to the tracking of your intake for the betterment of yourself. :)

Have you ever thought about using a detoxifying program. I hadn't until I saw first hand that is worked on this man that was very obese. I just knew he wasnt gonna make it. His daughter got him on this 30 day program and he has lost weight and the doctor took him off of 3 of his 4 blood pressure meds. So I tried it,doing the 9 day cleanse and exercising and it worked great. I did two 9 day cleanses and lost 18 pounds. Now if I gain, I just do a cleanse day or 2, drink the shakes in the morning always it is full of such good stuff, and have a sensible meal, (they show you how to do it all. There is also a maintenance program that keeps you in check. I am so happy that I have finally found something that really works. www.gocleanse.com/kathiland, or ____@____.com for more info.

I started on the weight watchers plan on line using the flex point system back in May. Over three months with eating healthier (think about it - when carrots and celery are 0 points and cake is 5 of your allowed 20 - which are you going to pick?) and exercising - sometimes all I was doing is running after my kids or swimming - I lost 15 pounds. It really helps you think about what you are putting into your body because the points basically install a warning bell in your head, "If you eat that ... you will be eating fish for supper tonight ..." I am a firm beleiver and lover of weight watchers.

I am using a great website (www.vitalityforlife.com) I get to track my eating habits (calories, fat, carbohydrates, protein, etc) as well as my fitness level. I love it! It is really inexpensive too, only $6 a month. I can't say enough good things about the website! :)
