I could have written your question. Gave me the goosebumps to read. Even the pregnancy part. Just wanted to let you know you are not the only one.
Hi All,
Is anyone else struggling with this? I've been rigid about diet and exercise my entire life, have completed two marathons and regularly run 30-40 mins four times a week. I have not attended the gym frequently, however, have changed my membership recently to permit my going more often. Also, I practice yoga once a week.
Anyway, what's strange is that with all of this, chasing after two toddlers every day and working, I still am gaining weight. After baby number one, I was actually 10 lbs. slimmer than before pregnancy. With the second child, I was 10 lbs. heavier and had gained less weight throughout the pregnancy. Then, I was able to take 5 lbs. off within the first few months. Instead of losing the rest of the baby weight, I've actually gained 5 lbs in the last 6 months. I've tried analyzing my diet and it doesn't seem that I'm eating any differently. Do you think this is just part of aging? Should I be dieting to combat the weight gain?
Doctors have done blood tests and all checks fine. So, it isn't any type of imbalance. Does anyone else think it's strange? Thanks!

My Dr said after 25 women lose muscle. And that is what burns calories and keeps your metabolism up. She suggested weight resistance excercise or weight lifting - not to bulk up but to maintain muscle mass. Haven't tried it yet, but makes sense!
I am 34 and the same thing has happened. I weight train and exercise but the scale says otherwise! Its very frustrating.
Are you on any sort of hormonal birth control? That was the culprit for me and some of my friends.
Good luck!
As we get older our hormones change we start loosing progesterone and estrogen levels then go up this is what causes weight gain (also during our period) This starts in our early 30's for most women. Did they check your hormone levels? A hormone saliva test is the most accurate way, insurance doesn't usually cover it but it is so worth the money to feel better and more energetic. I didn't know any of this until I discovered Arbonne which was a fluke and all due to Migraine headaches. Little did I know at the time that the sleeplessness and the Migraines which were getting worse and more frequent were caused from Hormones. I started using Arbonne's Phyto Prolief Balancing cream my migraines went away, I lost 25 pounds, I started sleeping at night, my energy level went up, my sex drive increased and the list goes on and on for me. If you would like more information I am sending you a PM with my contact info. It is great you are working out too keep up the good work.
I think many women go through what you are describing.
You mention that all your blood tests are fine, but did your doctor check your thyroid? Wasn't sure if that was part of your blood panel or not. Many times a person's thyroid can cause problems if it is hypothyroid. Just thought i'd mention it.
I do think that our bodies change after we have our children. I found that to be true after my 2nd pregnancy also.
If your doctor isn't too concerned, then I would just assume that it's due to normal body changes.
