Weight-Loss Pills??

So my daughter will be 1 at the end of this month, and I am beginning to realize that I have not lost ANY of my pregnancy weight! I'm not a big person at all & I don't consider myself over-weight. However, I am about 30 lbs heavier than I was before I became pregnant with my daughter & about 40 lbs heavier that before I was pregnant with my son who is almost 5. I am a stay at home mom, therefore I am VERY active all day long. I take walks with the kids and go along with exercise/fitness videos. There is just nothing that is working for me. So, I have been giving some thought into trying a weight loss pill of some sort. I know they are "safer" now that they don't have ephedrine. So, I guess I am wondering if anyone has any suggestions and/or horror stories for me to take into consideration before I just go and grab pills to try.
Thanks in advance for your input!!

Hello! As stated in a previous post, phentermine does work. However; if you have any issues with high blood sugar (diabetes, etc.) make sure you discuss it carefully with your doc. Phentermine can raise your blood sugar. I don't have diabetes but did have gestational diabetes. Still if I'm not careful, I will react to it with a high blood sugar. When that happens, it feels like you have the flu really bad, just so you know if it happens to ya!) I found that I don't do to bad as long as I really try to limit certain carbs. I can eat bread ok but have to really watch oatmeal, potatoes, noodles (any like chix noodles, spaghetti, etc.) The phentermine will give you mounds of energy and take away your appetite. After a while though, your body gets use to it and you have to go off of it for a week or two. Then you can start on it again. Most insurance will not cover the cost of phentermine. It runs about $30 a month at CVS. Good luck to ya! Shannon

Before I became pregnant I was taking Hydroxy cut and lost 15 lbs in the first month. I also started tracking my food and fitness on sparkpeople.com. I know eating better was the key, but the HydroxyCut helped speed it along!

Greeting's J. I also had a problem struggling with my weight after having my children I tryed everything & nothing seemed to help until I was referred to a Diet Dr. by a family member.. I went to this Dr. & he gave me diet pills called Phentermine let me just tell you they worked GREAT!! I lost 26 lbs in 2 months (Which was exactly what I wanted to lose).. the only major side effect I had was not being hungry at all lol.. so you can Google that pill & read all the info about it. but I guarantee you will be happy with the results!! Good Luck...

Weight watchers is my best advice. I do weight watchers and go to curves and I have lost all my baby weight and then some.
I took diet pills in the past and yeah they are bad news. When i would go off of them i would ZERO energy. Plus my blood pressure went through the roof, I also had insomnia and horrible dreams... night terrors.
I take a one a day vitamin now called weight smart and it really helps to give me some energy and suppresses my appetite a small bit. I do have a bit of the insomnia now, but i think that's just me:)- try the one a day and see if that helps!

I would avoid the pills - it is a bandaid solution that, when ceased, will only result in the weight coming back on.

Sure, the pills seem 'safer' now since ephedra (i.e. speed) is no longer allowed, but rarely if any of these pills are regulated by the FDA. Literally...someone could make a pill of grass clippings, conduct a 'study' with 10 subjects who lost weight while taking the pills, then claim 'science SHOWS this works'.

It's frustrating not to be able to drop the weight. Have you examined your nutrition? I don't mean just cutting out junk food, fat, and sweets, but what types of things are you putting into your body? I'm going to guess that you want this weight loss to be permanent, so it would be well worth the effort to spend the money consulting with a physician or a nutritionist than wasting it on pills.

I have been drinking Mummy magic weight loss tea to shed my pregnancy weight and belly fat while nursing my son. Within two months taking this tea three times daily, I managed to lose 35 pounds.

J.,
I am a lifestyle coach. I teach people how to follow a lifestyle system. Not a diet. If you would like more information just let me know. I will guarantee results if you guarantee to follow the system.

hi J.,

My mom and I went to a clinic in Oakbrook. It called the Jorie Center, ###-###-####. Just call for days and times and you can pretty much go whenever. My mom started it last April and was at 196lbs and by September, my sisters wedding, she was down to 163 lbs and looked GREAT!!! I started in Jan 07 with weightwatchers and lost 20 lbs by April when I started the clinic with my mom. From April till Sept I lost another 25 lbs. U go once a month and get a b12 shot along with the phentermine pill. the first month is 65.00 and every month after is 55.00. any other questions please feel free. u do have to eat the right foods and exercise too, that does work!!
