Diet Pill Suggestion

HELP. Ive recently started taking Relacore and it works great for lifting my mood and all that jazz and Ive lost 10lbs. Very slowly. I only take 4 pills a day instead of 6 because I am not fond of taking pills of any sort in the first place. I am exercising and trying to eat right. The eating part is really hard for me.
My question is I am thinking of going a step up w/ the diet pills and wondering if anyone else has had luck w/ anything other than Relacore? Or if someone is taking Relacore w/ a fatburner, which you can do. I am not sure what to try first.
I am looking for any advice but especially from someone who has a couple kids and alot of belly fat and at least 25lbs or more to lose.

After reading all your responses I decided to add some more information below:
Thank you all for your responses and helpful information.
I just wanted to clarify a few things, share a few things and reply to a few things.
The relacore drug I am taking is actually herbs. So to the person who suggested taking an herbal supplement…I actually already am. J Check the ingredients on relacore…its pretty all natural. Much to my surprise, which is one other reason I chose it. No to be gross or anything but if I don’t drink enough water when swallowing the pill I tend to burp and its like I ate an herb garden, lol.
Also, the water thing. I drink as much as I can handle. Unfortunately water doesn’t make me feel full it makes me nauseous, and I’ve come close to spewing from too much of it. I know, I am weird, lol.
So on the water subject, it was when I did do weight watchers that I discovered that too much water makes me feel nauseous. I did WW in high school and was very successful at it. However I do not care for the point system at all. I have such lack of self-control when it comes to food that I would eat all my points before dinner, lol. Plus “dieting” is so stressful for me and I get really grouchy that I have opted to steer clear of any measuring or counting…..so counting calories is out as well. However, I do plan on keeping track of my food intake online. As long as I can just enter what I ate and someone else tells me what my numbers are…I can do that. That way I can see, ok fewer carbs tomorrow, or more protein tomorrow, or way less fat……
I totally agree w/ the NO skipping meals comment. I never skip meals. I cant, I get really low blood sugar and being pre-diabetic I need to keep my sugar level. I also am not a fan of substituting shakes for meals. I would just prefer to eat in moderation like I learned in WW 20yrs ago.
Also, I have tried the eating right and exercising route. It doesn’t work for me at the rate I am able to do it. I have 3 conditions that really put a kink in my weight loss plan. First off I am over 35 when it starts to become harder to lose weight. And I have pcos and it is very difficult for me to shed pounds. I also have foot issues which make walking, running, ellipticals….difficult as well. Right now I am using the bike and will soon start up in the pool again.
Lastly, I am by no means looking for a quick fix. I use the relacore as a tool and I plan to lose slowly, that’s ok by me. Another tip that I have thot of and a friend of mine’s dr. suggested this to her : is to lose weight in little spurts. So like my first spurt is 30lbs. Then I will take some time to maintain that by just eating really well, drinking water and exercising, and no drugs. Then I will start up again and aim for 20lbs and then take another break to maintain. I will do this until I reach my goal.
Thanks for reading this long post, I hope it clarifies some things and I am still open to replies.

What can I do next?

I don't recomend relacore or any other diet pills I took relacore and became ill while I was taking them. I don't want to scare you. My Pulmonaligist told me to decrease calories and see if you can lose 20ls and keep it off thats good. Then start on the nest 20 lbs and continue the same till you lose what you want. I've lost 60lbs with just decreasing calories and excersise. Hope this helps

Hi Kristi,

Save yourself some aggravation. Get yourself a personal trainer to help you along with your jazzercise. Make a schedule for yourself to eat at the same time each day. Make up your meal plans for each week. Call your local hospital and talk to the Dietician for meal plans for 1200 calorie diet.

To eat healthy is a life style not a quick fix with diet pills. Take some probiotics to increase your intestinal flora.

Good luck. You have alot of work for yourself but once in get in a habit, it will be a breeze.

Hope this helps. Good luck. D.

Hello, I thought i would put my 2 cents in, i have 2 children and gained alot of weight during my second, i was about 195, it took me about 4 months or so but i lost most of it, down to 150, the best advice i can give is, stay in a routine, get a goods night sleep, stay active, take walks with the kids, and drink lots of water, the water keeps all the food moving inside of you and it fills your stomach up so you don't eat as much. I would skip breakfast and eat a lunch, either salad or wrap, something healthy, and have a afternoon snack and skip dinner. The first few days are the worst but it shrinks your stomach because you are not eating so much, and it lets you have those splurges every now and then on chocolate and stuff when you want. it worked, the weight fell right off. I think the worst thing you can do on a diet is eat a late dinner (later than 530pm) and not drink enough water. Water is essential, especially when you are trying to loose weight. When you wake up first thing, drink about 10 oz of water before coffe or breakfast. I did not take any diet pills at all. Hope this helps.

Dear Kristi,

I have way more than 25 pounds to lose and I'm starting "The Enzyme Diet" which works with nutritional supplements rather than a diet pill. For general nutrition substitute one "shake" for one meal, for weight loss substitute "shakes" for two meals a day. Plus they have a whole support system built into this plan to help build lifestyle changes rather than "diet" forever. It may not be for you, but check out www.infinity2.com/3angels where you can find out everything you'd want to know. Best wishes. You've already made good decisions to do something about your problem and to seek advise from others. God Bless, Angie P.

Weight watchers may sound old fashioned, but it works! They have a great education and support system. I just lost 19 pounds-mostly from the belly. My next goal is another 19 pounds. Then we will figure my final goal. Go on-line at weightwatchers.com to join the on-line program or to find a meeting. Yes, there is a fee, but it's not much more than diet pills. Not only do you lose weight, but you meet a lot of nice people!

Hi Kristi,

I had to respond to your question because not many of the people who responded had ever taken diet pills. I have taken Phentermine on 2 or 3 separate occasions and lost 18-20 lbs. I also have done weight watchers. Honestly, in both cases, I gained back the weight. I wouldn't recommend Phentermine unless under a doctor's care as it is part of the drug that was recalled back in the 90's. I have an almost 4 year old and a ten month old. I gained 53 lbs with the first pregnancy and thirty something with the second, but they equalled out since I was 12 lbs heavier when I got pregnant the 2nd time. I weighed 125 lbs when I got married, I quit smoking and gained 40 lbs over 4 years and weighed 166 when I got pregnant the first time. I now weigh 186 lbs and I am disgusted with myself, but when I'm hungry I eat whatever I can get my hands on. My husband bought me an exercise bike for my birthday (I asked for it) and I have only been on it 3 times. I am still nursing my 10 month old and I have no energy. Whenever I have the chance to sleep, I prefer that over exercise any day! Enough about me, but wanted you to see that there are others out there in the same predicament and I certainly don't judge you for taking diet pills, although I know that there are healthier ways to lose weight. Personally, I wish I had the money to get a trainer and a nutritionist. I don't have much advice for you, but just wanted you to know that I'll be waiting to hear how you are doing and pray that you succeed!

Take care & God bless,
D.

Congrats on the weight loss!! I'm glad the Relacore is working for you.
Have you heard of Arbonne? They have a wonderful weight loss program that includes a dietary supplement that surpresses your appetite while increasing your metabolism. It works tremendously and it doesn't have any harmful ingredients like many products on the market. If you'd like to know more please message me or give me a call.

Kristi,
I would go to weight watchers instead of taking pills. You can really damage your system if you take pills and then when you get older and try to loose weight you won't be able to. I have struggled with my weight and I finally called an nuritionist and she told me to try weight watchers first and if that didn't help then call her back. Really be careful with diet pills. Also try some herbs. Go to an herbalist and see if they have something for you to boost energy and reduce stress. I know how hard it is to loose weight but do it the right way don't use the quick fix method. Try smaller portions. I was told that you should eat a protein , veggie. and startch, and each should be the size of a deck of cards. Try that and see how that works. Also make sure you eat in the morning to jump start your system.
If you need a diet plan let me know I have one that is working for me.
Good Luck
L.

Someone suggested skipping meals in a reply, but that is not a good idea! It slows your metabolism by making your body believe it is starving. Breakfast is crucial to rev up your metabolism. 3 healthy meals (not large); 2-3 healthy snacks, every day.

Weight Watchers has been very successful for some friends. I personally haven't tried that one. The South Beach approach is a healthy one, eliminating simple carbs from your diet, sticking to lean sources of protein.

Eating lots and lots of green vegetables/salads has always helped me. Avoid processed foods-these always sneak in things we don't need, like high fructose corn syrup. Avoid Diet sodas, they will sabotage you. I stay away from all artificial sweetners at the advice of my doctor. (Stevia is a nice, safe alternative; also according to my doc)

I had someone put it into a simple perspective: Don't eat White Food! Sugar, breads, pastas, etc. You get the idea.

Keep exercising! 5-6 days a week is really necessary for a female to lose weight.

Good Luck to you.

Kristi,

Get OFF the diet pills!!! I am 55 and a mother of 2 adult children. I need to lose at least 50lbs, but I will tell you that I have lost a ton of weight on diet pills, but always, always gain it all back and more. My oldest daugher and I attend Weight Watchers. You do not feel deprived, it is not expensive, you do not have to purchase any foods, but they teach you how to eat, how to beat the cravings, how to change your lifestyle. This is the only way to lose weight and keep it off! I struggle with my weight as I have fibromyalgia and only 1/2 of a thyroid. But this works only if you are willing to change your life. They will help you figure out why you over eat, plus the support you get is amazing! You can attend a Weight Watchers meeting every day if that is what you need and it still does not cost you anything extra. It is interactive and try and get a friend to join with you. You keep each other on track. They have different times of the day and night to attend as well as weekends. Give it a try, because I can guarantee you will lose weight on the pills..... but you will gain it all back because you are not learning how to redesign your life.

I'm a big fan of weight watchers online. It has really worked for me. Also, make sure you see your doctor regularly. I found out at a routine physical that I had a thyroid disease (which REALLY acted up after I had my baby) and once my levels were corrected it became a lot easier to lose weight.

My husband and I teach classes in his doctor's office called Transitions. We also do classes online and one-on-one. We have tremendous success and people lose weight, get healthy, and so on. What really sets this system apart is that it is a Lifestyle System. We are partnered with Dr. Shari Lieberman, Ph.D. and we teach you how to eat properly, lose weight and get healthy with 12 weeks of education and support material. Unfortunatley people who yo-yo diet unknowingly set themselves up to fail and will be left with a lower metabolism still looking for another pill, another diet, another pill, another diet...it's a vicious cycle. We'd love to help and we're here if you need us. We are located in Dover, DE, but again we do classes online and one-on-one. Hello i have 2 young children and had trouble with the pounds comming off i treid diet pills i would lose weight then gain it back. Diet pills are a mind set if you take them you think they will make you lose weight all they do is little tricks make you think you are not hungry and so on. Really you can take a healther approach, water gives you the feeling of being full, so drink water with a smaller portion of what you eat. Then i know i go to walmart i buy smart ones meals and a few other brands they have they even tell you weight watchers points. They are well balanced meals and if you eat 3 well balanced meals and good snacks, cut up some of your fav veggis and fruits put them in the fridge when you hungry snack on them. Make sure you do not over eat at meals. And never eat while at the computer or when watching t.v. And if you do never eat from the bag. When you eat you need to concentrate on it so you are not distracted and keep eating.

This has worked for me in 2 months with little working out i have lost 28 pounds a healthy way and i know i can stick to it cause i have not depended on pills.

Kristi, there's no quick weight loss. It took time to get the way we are and it'll take time to get the weight off again. I've tried everything (hydroxycut, hydroxycut-hardcore, hydroxycut-MAX for women, slimquick-rapid, smartburn, relacore, hoodia, green-tea, accelis, Lipo-6x and there may be a few others I missed)but to be totally honest, although I found moderate success, I felt it is a waste to even use the pills. After your body gets use to it, it stop doing what it needs to. I don't recommend diet pills just exercise and change in eating habits and portions. But since you asked I did like smart-burn and hydroxycut-MAX. (Both are design for women-I didn't feel hungry and I had energy) My fitness instructor recommends that we take supplements that our bodies loses after as we get older (i.e. B-12, chromine pilconte, flaxseed oil, CLA, calcium w/Vit. D) As we get older our bodies loses a lot of vital nutrients that once kept weight off. CLA-is found in meats and when trying to lose weight we don't get what we need. Chromine-aids in the consumption of sugar, helps utilize it more effectively. B-12 should be sub-lingual (under the tongue tablets)- helps with energy. Especially females as we age need more vitamin D and calcium not only for strong bones which support muscles, but to prevent osteoporosis. I've been eating healthy and exercising but haven't seen the weight come off quickly. So I stop working out regular. I read that if you have 20 or more pounds to lose than you should be exercising at least 4-5 days per week and for at least 40 minutes. Once you at the desire weight you can switch to 3 days per week and 30 minutes to help maintain but remember this is a life long committment. Once you stop and if not monitored the weight will come back. I lost weight and although I didn't think I was small (from a 12 to a 4/5), people said I looked too thin, but the scale was tipped at 148. I'm only 5'3. I still have belly fat, but as I burn I will lose it. you have to incorporate cardio (40mins) and weight training and core/strength training. I make it a habit of doing abs every night. Because after 48 hours your muscles (if inactive) reverses back. I do lower abs more so, that's where I need it the most; upper abs and obliques and I weight train with moderate weights. It won't bulk you, but you will have sexy arms. I'm currently a size 6. I went to my son's school and the boys, was asking other who knew me, who I was. I was shocked that they would look at a 40 y/o like that. I'm a mother of 3 (15, 12, 9). Working out definitely has help me maintain a youthful appearance and I feel great. I even play with my kids like basketball and jumping on the trampoline. I do anything to get some fitness in. My oldest son and I joined a gym and we workout together. (he can't keep up and he's athletic-lol)
Another thing is to get a good night sleep at least 7 hours, eat bake chicken, turkey, shaved ham-Oscar meyers, and a lot of greens. Cut out the red meats-longer to digest. If eating a sandwich, load it with lettuce, tomatoes, and etc., to help make you full and drink plenty of water. Breakfast is the most important meal of the day, it fuels the body without it the body stores fat for energy because it goes into starvation mode. You can lose weight by skipping it but it's not recommend for proper weight loss. six small meals per day works well. My breakfast consist of high protein, to keep me fuller about 300 calories. then I have a snack, then lunch is a little bigger and includes a few carbs because I can burn that before going to bed and dinner I eat no carbs.
Having a goal insight helps, I was going to my 20th H.S. reunion and wanted to look fantastic, having that focus help me reach my goal. Find a good support group people who would workout with you, or walk with you on a sunny day, or just need to lose some weight, too.
You can do it, but if you need to use the pills, do research prior to using it. I had no side effect from any of them, except some didn't work, did nothing. Diet pills are a billion dollar industry and for the most part you can lose the weight without. I know you can do it. I will be your support group. Email me anything if you need someone to motivate you or we can share tips. ____@____.com Luck, see you wearing that bikini this summer.

Hi Kristi,

Well I have a 4 year old boy and 3 year old daughter. I have struggled with the weight coming off and I do excercise. I found that eating was my problem too. I recently joined weight watchers and found that if someone is holding me accountable for my weight loss that it works for me. I have lost almost 10 lbs. in the first month and continue to push it every week to make sure I am active and eat better. I also have about 20 more lbs. to lose although they have my ultimate goal set at about 35 more pounds to lose. If you are having trouble with the eating part it may be some thing you would want to consider. It costs an average of $10.00 a week which isnt too bad and there is no contract so you can quit anytime. Hope this helps and good luck.
