I've been doing Weight Watchers on-line for almost a month now and have lost 7 lb so far. That's helped me because it's a system that makes you take into account everything you eat and portion sizes, and makes you more conscious of the choices you are making. Some changes I've made include fat-free creamer in my coffee instead of regular creamer, drinking water instead of soda (sometimes a diet soda instead if I really want it), and paying attention when we eat out to how something is prepared (grilled chicken vs. grilled chicken). And you can fill up on all the fresh fruits and veggies you want since they don't have any points.

I was able to lose all my "baby weight" (30 + pounds) without giving up coffee. I did several things.
1. couch-5K plan (3 days/week) because I had heard that jogging or running just melts the fat off (it worked!!)
2. followed the 10 calorie rule (take your weight, multiply by 10= eat that many calories/day...do this and you will lose 1 pound/week.) ex: 140 lbs x 10 = 1400 calories/day. This really worked for me. Readjust each week.
3. NO fried food (one meal of fried food can ruin an entire week's worth of effort.)
4. LOTS of water (except for the morning coffee, water was the ONLY beverage I allowed myself-and maybe the occasional glass of milk-but NEVER soda or even crystal lite--artificially flavored/sweetened beverages are not good for your body.)
5. **My favorite rule: Absolutely NO eating after 7 pm. ESPECIALLY on special days (birthdays, parties, weekends, holidays) Just stop at 7 and if you get hungry, plan on what kind of huge breakfast you can make for yourself in the morning. Floss and brush at 7--that helps. :) If you absolutely HAVE to have something because you're feeling ill, have an apple.

These things worked for me--I hope they help for you, too! :-) Good luck!!!

after being sick of the way i look in pictures because of all the baby weight i never worked hard to lose, i dropped 10 lbs (1 dress size) in 2 months. it was the healthy way to do it.

i took up running, but i pushed my intensity level, either by distance or speed every day. i eat a light breakfast with coffee and a light lunch (maybe a fruit shake or a small sandwich, bowl of soup). cut the soda, that helps a lot.

i've noticed my metabolism is much faster, i sleep earlier which helps with weight loss and i have more energy.

but most importantly, i fit well in clothes and look and feel good. the compliments keep me motivated!

think of it as putting money in a piggy bank, each workout. it adds up and you see results. just be patient and don't give up.

If you make sure to burn at least 500 calories when you work out and then shave 500 calories from your daily menu, then you just kept off 1 lb off your body for that day!

When I walk, I go for 5-6 miles in about an hour, and my mile tracker says that is about 500 calories...just to give you an example.

Some people have to excercise to lose weight. Others can simply diet. I have to do both to lose weight :(

I was in the same boat as you are. I was having a harder time losing weight which I though was due to my age (46). I had done WW previously and had lost app. 35 pounds. That was probably 7 years ago. About 5 years ago, I started running and was keeping fit until I had a herniated disc. Ouch! In January of this year, I started on a weight loss supplement ZXT Gold and absolutely love it. There are no side effects! It suppresses your appetite and boosts your metabolism. The best part is, it is all natural. It contains Bee Pollen, Lotus Seed, Wolfberry and other all natural ingredients as well as fiber. Right now I am down 17 pounds and probably only have another 5 to go. Feel free to contact me if you need more info. I know that Game Day Cuts in Mansfield carries it and there is also a G. here in Bucyrus that sells it! You should try it! You can also combine it with other programs such as WW. I know another G. here in Bucyrus that has been taking it along with following the Fork Over Knives program and has lost 21 pounds in the last month! It's amazing!

Here are some things that I used. I did a program called transitions. It's awesome. I lost 26 lbs and I have kept it off. I know a great coach if you want to try it. It's a 12 week program where you learn how to eat healthier. You eat real food, it's not a meal replacement plan or anything like that.

Here are a couple of product from that program that I love. These 2 alone will help you lose weight.

Coffee is a diuretic, it won't prevent you from losing weight, but it will make you dehydrated, so your body may be holding onto extra water weight if you're not properly hydrating yourself before, during, and after exercising. I sprinkle a little cinnamon in my coffee; it helps boost metabolism. Make sure you're eating a good 30-40 minutes before working out, and switch up the routine often to cause muscle confusion and make your work outs more productive.

Also, on top of drinking a glass of water before meals (helps make you feel full), pay attention to portion sizes. 'Diet' is an evil 4 letter word. I am a firm believer you can eat whatever you want, in moderation, as long as you pay attention to your portion sizes. Good luck!
