You need to get to the doctor. Don't EVER hesitate to see a doctor when an unknown rash accompanies a sickness. It could be anything from a reaction to medicine to chicken pox, and it's impossible to tell over a computer.
My son has had a virus sore throat, congestion and fever for three days. He broke out in zit or hives on his face. How can I treat them? I put baby aveeno lotion on his face because they just looked like dry spots at first. We made him wash his face after the dry spot s turned in to sores or zits. They have dryed up now but, really hurt?

my DS had only a face rash and the doctor thinks it might be scarlet fever (a form of strep throat). From the little bit I read online, I thought it might be Fifth disease. We will get test results tomorrow to see if it is scarlet fever. Call the doctor in the morning to get your son in.
I know someone who had this occur and it was scarlet fever. I'd check with a doctor.
A rash can go along with a virus infection but what you describe doesn't sound like a rash. I also think you should call the doctor.
My vote is also for going to the doctor. Some kids get just a normal hive looking rash that goes a long with a virus but what you describe does not sound like the typical rash that foes with a regular cold virus.
