Update and I Need More Advice on Pineal Gland Cysts

I asked a question a week or so about cysts on the brain. At the time I thought the cyst was just on my sister's brain, but yesterday she saw the neurologist and he said it's a pineal gland cyst which is in the center of her brain right next to the brain stem. He didn't seem worried about it, but he also talked to her like she was stupid. Should she get a second opinion, and if so, how do I figure out who is the best person to see. I dont want to waste time. My sister is 22 and needs something done. Her symptoms are headaches, blurred vision, tingling in the extremities and cold and hot sensations in her back. Somedays she says it feels like her hair is falling (only way to describe it) and then it's like someone is constantly pulling her hair. She was taken to the ER a week ago because she was in so much pain in her legs, she couldn't even walk.

What can I do next?

I suggest that you make an appointment and go with her to talk with the doctor. You may feel more comfortable with him and his diagnosis and treatment than your sister does. She's young and may have not handled the information well. I would be quite scared if I were her and also may not have listened well.

It's reasonable to get a second opinion. I'm just suggesting that you know more before going for it. You can always ask for a referral to another doctor who is a specialist in this field. It seems like that this doctor would welcome that. The medical profession actually suggests getting second opinions.

I second going with her. My nephew was very sick and when the doctor would do his rounds, my brother n sil always wanted someone else there to hear what the doctor said. They often heard different.

Get a second opinion. At the very least the new dr may be more sensitive and have a better bed side manner. I really do not understand doctors who are clueless to the fact that while they may see this all the time or have multiple patients waiting. This is someones life. Every person deserves to be treated as that. Anything like this is so scary. Your sister is so young and is having multiple symptoms. What does this dr rec she do about this?? I know my grandmother had a minor stroke on the brain stem. And while the stroke was minor they said it was the worst spot to have it. The brain stem controls the respiratory system. Get a second opinion immediatly do your research and find a very very qualified nuerologist. I remember my grams nuerologist was weird and kind of rude too. My sister who is a nurse said they are all usually awkward bc they are just so brilliant. What ever that means. Good luck prayers to your sis and keep us updated.
