I cannot tell you which ones are the best. I can tell you how to find out.
First look up freezers in Consumer reports and see who they recommend.
2nd. This will be harder. Call the appliance repair shops in your area and ask them which freezers they work on the most and which ones they never see. Their answers will tell you what freezers last and what freezers don't.
To get the best deal, look up all the stores that sell freezers in your area. Take a spiral notebook like the kids use in school. Write down the stores and the phone numbers of each store on a separate page. Then go to each store and when a saleman asks if he can help you ask him if you can have a business card and if he is a commission salesman. Then turn to the page in the notebook where that store is. (Remember to write down one or two per page.) Then tell him what you are looking for and let him show you the freezers features. When you have all your questions asked tell him you want his stores best price and that if his price is the best one, you will come back and buy from him. If his price isn't the best one, then he will never see you again. Then write down his price, tape or staple his business card to that page and leave. Go to the next store and repeat the process.
I had 11 stores in my area when I did this. I was amazed at what I found. I was looking for a frige and chest freezer. The store that advertised, "If you didn't buy it from Wxxxx's you paid too much" was the second highest of the 11 stores. The difference between the highest and lowest price was $990 and this was back in 1988. I can just imagine what it would be today.
BTW, I got them to deliver it too and take away the old one as part of the total price. (I just traded in my frig last year and I'm still using the freezer.)
Good luck to you and yours.
