HI ladies :)
So my hubby is turning 30 on March 18th. I am currently pregnant with our first child and will be giving birth on March 21--3 days after his day!!!!!!! I know thats the best gift you could ever receive--but we were planning this huge birthday getaway for him before we found out I was pregnant. Obviously, we can't do that anymore--so we are taking a Christmas vacation. But, after talking to him about it, I know he's kinda bummed that he's not going to have a big party/celebration like we are used to (especially turning 30!) So, do you have any ideas of what I can do/get him/make him that would completely blow his mind and let him know that his birthday is still as important to me, even with our son coming so close to his special day? I'd appreciate any suggestions, HELP!! :) Thanks!

What can I do next?

Are you having a scheduled C-section (hence, so sure about the delivery date?). IF not, you and your husband need to keep in mind that March 21 is your "working due date" and your baby could come approximately 2 weeks early or 2 weeks late. My first child came 15 days earlier than her predicted due date, just as an example.

I know that the 30th birthday can be a big deal, but so is having a child. You don't want your husband to partying the night away if and when you go into labor. This is just one example of how you and your husband are going to have to be flexible and put your child first. I like the plan of having a party or gathering in early March or you can have a big bash about 4 weeks after you have the baby and it can be combo B-day party for your husband and "meet the baby". You will not want to do much for the first 4 weeks, I promise you!

Or, you can tentatively plan to go out to dinner on the day and really enjoy the last few opportunities you have to go out as a couple without having to arrange for a babysitter..

You could go into labor! Sorry, I don't have any good ideas, but that would be kind of neat

Hi! Our daughter was due a few weeks after my husbands 40th birthday. I wanted him to feel special and get ALL the attention, so I planned a surprise party for him 4 weeks early. It was wonderful and he was surprised. He then was able to celebrate all month long, with co-workers and others who were unable to attend party. This is something we will always remember, as well as our precious baby girl. Good luck and have fun with creativity.

A bouncy house is fun for anyone and would be a great surprise to him. They are rented pretty reasonable. Make him feel like a kid again. Also you could have all of his friends dress up in something they would never be caught dead in (like a guy wearing fishnet hose, wig, earrings, make up, etc. it can be really fun and simple) It would make him feel special that you had his friends do this fun thing for him and that you planned it.He sounds like a great guy. Have fun!!!

For my hubby's 30th I told him we were going out with a couple of close friends but actually I planned a small surprise party for him. I ordered t-shirts for everyone to wear with his picture (it was a funny pic of him flexing haha) on them that said "happy 30th" and printed up a banner to hang in the room we had reserved, plus cake, etc. He was so surprised and felt really special. It really wasn't much work at all, just a few phone calls and a few friends helped out with picking up the cake, banner, etc....but the t-shirts were the biggest hit! PS congrats on the baby!

I don't know what your budget is, but Richard Petty Driving School sometimes hosts their driving experience at the Fontana Speedway or they have a permanent school in Las Vegas (but I wouldn't think you'd want to send him to Vegas so close to your due date). Anyway, I'm not a huge NASCAR person, but I have to say that I was amazed after driving one of those NASCARs. It is truly an amazing experience and total adrenaline. They have all sorts of price levels and experiences - based on budget. My husband and I did it a few years ago with my company but I'm already planning his 40th birthday for him and his dad to do it again. It's AWESOME!

maybe you could have him "settle" on something low key since your baby is due at the same time...then secretly plan a small surprise party at a friend's house......about a month after the baby. You could take care of all the details prior to the birth, enlist the help of a best friend to pretty much handle it after you have the baby.....then you guys could be going to the friend's house for your first night out as a family? He'll never even have a clue! Good luck with your baby! :)

Why not have the party a few days/week earlier? That way he can still have his big party and be happy and it doesnt interfere with the soon coming baby. Also if you were planning on having it far away, or where ever you were, find somewhere closer that is still just as fun and have the party there and do it without him knowing about it. Sure that will blow his mind, and it would be a blast.
