I have been cleaning all morning getting ready for a dinner tomorrow and I had cleaned the bathroom toilet and left the cleaner in the toilet, forgot to flush it (Scrubbing bubbles) well that was this morning and just a minute ago my toddler said she had to pee, I went in there to wipe but she had toilet paper on her hand, but it didn't appear to have the water from the toilet bowl on it, so i don't think she got any on her bottom/private area. WHEW....Anyways, She seems fine, but if she happened to get any on her bottom would she be in pain or screaming? I feel so horrible :(

Yes, she can talk and I asked her and she said she did not, but I mean sometimes she fibs. ;/ or doesn't tell all. She hasnt complained or tugged down there or anything, so I am assuming she is fine. I put her in the shower immediately.

Yeah, I think she is fine but I am so paranoid :( its just I cannot believe I forgot to flush the cleaner!!! I feel so stupid!

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

called Posion control and they said that since it had water in the bowl and the cleaner was diluted, just to make sure I properly rinse her and everthing would be fine. Whew. Mind eased. Thanks ladies

My husband MAKES Scrubbing Bubbles (SCJ, a Family Company.) It's mostly soap and she'll be fine. Just rinse her off.

We switched from Lysol wipes at preschool because we found out that SB kills strep and Lysol doesn't. They clean the tables off with SB wipes everyday and NO kids have had strep since.

Hi photogmama, i agree with the great advice below and am glad you wrote all is ok. I would also add that i too -- a very modern woman who never thougth i would write this -- now use only eco friendly products in our house and stuff I would not be nervous if my little one got into by accident....when he was born, i just started using plain soap and water, baking soda, vinegar etc. ... it is all next to my designer stuff and shoe collection :) but mommyhood has changed me.

hope this helps and happy holiday. jily

Happens to almost every mama! You can be sure THAT's something you'll never forget to do again! However, non-toxic products are well worth checking out when you have little people toddling around.

She will be fine. If this is the worst thing that ever happens to her, she will be very lucky indeed! :)

This is why I use dawn dish soap on my toilets now. (It has to be dawn others don't cut it.)

*I'm sure she's fine.
But maybe just watch and see if she gets skin irritation.

Um, just put her under the shower spout and rinse/wash her off anyway.
Regardless.

Can she talk?
Did you ask her if she put the toilet water on herself?

Why would you feel stupid? It happens. Even before reading your update I would have said to just rinse her bottom off if you had any question at all that she had toilet water with diluted cleaner on herself. Which you did already anyway.

The trick is not to panic when things like this happen, and trust me they're going to keep happening.

girl DO NOT FEEL STUPID!!! we all make mistakes and it's ok. we live and learn. you did the best thing anyway you immediately put her in water to rinse any iritants off, so she should be alright. i made a mistake and sprayed the bathtub down with awesome and forgot and ran my son some bath water and put him in it!!!! he was ok, and i did the same thing you did, i plopped him in the sink right away and got to rinsing. so don't feel bad at all.

Don't feel stupid! We all have those moments. I think you did fine with putting her in the shower and washing her off immediately; just check her throughout the day and make sure she doesn't have any kind of rash or irritation, but I don't think you have anything to worry about.

We all have those Homer Simpson moments (D'oh!) where we don't know why our brains weren't thinking straight. It comes with the the territory of being an overworked mommy. :-)

Just curious why her bottom would be touching the toilet water anyway? even if it did, it's only scrubbing bubbles that had been sitting in water all morning, so sure she'd be fine.
