I'm looking for a reliable, insured tree trimming service in the Plano area. I went through the Better Business Bureau listings and compared companies and then called 1/2 dozen. Only one bothered to give me a quote and that was for $600 to trim two large oak trees. I'd like at least one more quote to see if this price is reasonable because it seems rather high. I'd appreciate recommendations on who to call, as well as who NOT to call. Thanks for your help!

Their website has all of their services and tree pruning is on this list. Our tree removal was about $275, but I do not know what their pruning prices are. I hope this helps you.
We have used Condren for years. They are reliable, great service. They are not cheap, you will find cheaper but in my opinion, you get what you pay for. We have been in our home about 8 yrs now with a heavily wooded lot and they come here about every year to do clean up work in trees.
The first time, they were here most all after noon and it was $800 or so. After that, it has not been as pricey because we took care of major issues with the first hit $. They have removed a couple of trees as well, about $600 each.
They also come in the spring and inject our trees with special fertilizers to keep them strong. We pay about $80 per tree for this and we only inject selected trees. We have not lost any trees. Our lot is about 1/2 acre and heavily wooded and we back up to an 85 acre heavily wooded park.
Keith does estimations and he is always right on target.

Short story: our neighbor went with a cheaper company only because of $ and they lost 3 huge trees. It cost a lot more than $600 per tree to remove than to do routinely care for them.
PS, if you have kiddos it is a great show for them to watch (from inside) because the guys climb the trees to maintain the top portions.
