Last night all the branches in the center of our tree broke. Probably the entire tree needs to be removed. My husband thinks he can do it himself...I think he's crazy. Can anyone recommend a tree removal service?

So What Happened?

Thank you for your responses. I'm thinking others may be in the same situation due to the storm, so I wanted to provide an update.

We decided the tree was salvageable. We cut off all the limbs, so now we are down to the trunk and main branches (no leaves). It's very ugly, but the tree will be fine in a year or two.

My husband cut all the limbs off himself. Before he cut them in small pieces, he asked our neighbor's lawn guy how much he would charge to haul it all away. He quoted us $200.

My husband cut the branches down and put them at the curb. The City of Frisco is making rounds in the next week to pick up the debris (our neighborhood is scheduled for today). We are hoping they haul it away and we don't have to rent a truck and do it ourselves.

We deal with Condren. Keith Bradley. ###-###-####. We have a heavily wooded lot and they have done a lot of work for us. Very fair. They will be at my house helping clean up the mess from last night.

Good luck, Susan

I am not exactly sure who removed our tree yesterday but I will try to find out for you. Just be careful because there are a lot of people out there trying to make money off of you! We had one guy stop by in the morning and quote us $150 (our entire 11 yea rold tree fell down) and we were debating about it when I saw my neighbors lawn service guys removing her tree. I asked them how much they would charge and they said $50!!! I will really try to find out the name of the company for you...they had it done in less than 30 minutes! Just watch out for people trying to rip you off!!
