hi,
we really like our precor treadmill.. my husband is a big guy and it has a lot of shock resistance.. we have had ours for 4 years.. also it has a passcode so kids can not start the machine.. check precor online web site.
I'm in the market for a treadmill. I thought I'd start here with the great moms on Mamasource for recommendations. I recently cancelled my online Consumer Reports membership, so I can't check with them. We plan to use it daily (my 220-lb. husband and I). It doesn't have to fold up, but I would like a long and wide running deck. Any suggestions on brands, models, and merchants would be much appreciated. TIA!

i agree on the precor, precor and smooth are the best home treadmills on the market in around the 1000 to 2000 range
i have a smooth and i am very happy with it.
treadmill sensei has some good honest reviews, even though he is no longer reviewing
Landice. I've had mine for many years with no problem. My husband is at least as big as yours, but he has used an Elliptical for that long: Life Fitness......it is easier on his ankles and knees. We found a dealer we think is very reputable and have contacted them for other things and recommendations. They are always helpful.

We have a NordicTrack and love it! We've had it for 5 years without a single issue.
We searched online and found a retailer that was offering free shipping and competitive pricing, but I don't recall the merchant. Definitely look into all the options!!
