WOW has anyone else seen this story? She is trying to get 30 MILLION dollars because as she said multiple media outlets "sexualized" her daughter...well maybe its just me but isn't that what the parents do when they enter these glitz pagents?

What can I do next?

Hmmmmm....again, just another MOY (Mother of the Year)!

Funny, my 8 year old BOY thinks "sexy" is a bad word to use....

That show is one of the better trainwrecks on t.v. The mothers on that show are desperate for attention. Objectifying their daughters and creating HUGE self esteem problems.
Thank you TLC for providing a brief escape from reality. ;)

I guess it was the media who taught the child to sing "I'm sexy and I know it"

I think the mother is embarrassed that she, herself, is the reason for the "firestorm" as she descibes it, surrounding the attention her daughter has received in the media. Since the attention has not been flattering, she will blame the media for being harmful to her child.

She is in denial.
This is truly one of those instances where if you point your finger at someone else, there are 3 fingers pointing back at YOU.

This suit won't go anywhere.

Just my opinion.

Hadn't heard it but ummm hello ... turning a 3 year old into a 25 year old ... who the hell's fault is that? sure isn't the damn medias fault. ITS THE PARENTS.

When I was 10 I was backstage at the Miss Ohio pageant and let me tell you ... all but TWO of the women there were complete and utter punts. The only reason I say two is because one was only 17 and had never done a pageant before in her life (the next year when I saw her at the Miss Ohio parade she was a contestant again and boy what a change in attitude) and the other was the current Miss Ohio and a family friend (she even let me wear her crown ... talk about a little girls dream come true) and just a genuinely great person (and didn't enter the pageant without a LOT of bribery from the people asking HER to represent them).

The rest ... including the reigning Miss America ... just flat out HORRIBLE people. I said from that moment on I would never watch the pageants again and I would NEVER EVER EVER EVER EVER allow my daughter to participate in them ... EVER.

Most of those mothers are using their kids to get their own fame and it's pathetic. when their kids become the next lyndsy lohan they'll wonder why.

any time you accentuate you child's "parts" you drawing gaze and wonder at whats there. What is the thought that would "come" into your head looking at it? well we are not thinking about pink elephants and fluffy puppies.

SHE is at fault 100% for everything the Media did. In this case they did paint the mom as a witch, and shockingly its TRUE!

I haven't heard the story...but seen the show. Seriously!?! I have issues with that show on SOOO many levels! I don't see how you can do that...and than question why your daughter is shallow, spoiled, rude and bossy...not to mention how much the emphasis on the physical leads to eating disorders and other problems. UGH! Those poor little girls...

Those moms have to be a few beans shy of a combo platter so it doesn't surprise me. I won't go anywhere in court.

Perhaps she saw the clips and realized what she is doing to her daughter and doesn't want to accept it is her fault. Maybe her daughter isn't making enough money for her so she needs to fill the gap.

It is a strange claim that the outlets sexulized her daughter. My daughter who is sitting next to me could sing that song and there would be no way to sexualize her. She is a tomboy and dressed as such. You could probably dress her the same as that girl and still not be able to pull it off because of my daughter's demeanor. Still the mom put it all together and only in that condition can that girl be seen as sexual so it is all mom. The media outlets only pointed out what she is doing and that is obvious to everyone but mom.

hmmm as a pageant mom i see nothing sexuallized about her singing a song. i thing mom made a bad choice in having her child in a night club setting. you can see the mom encouraging her daughter to carry on. when doing toddlers and tiaras you willingly put yourself out there to be scrutenized. so anything that can be used to show your choices with your child will go viral.

my daughter does low glitz and glitz pageants and she has had pageant friends on t and t. the children we know that have done the show are very good kids and truly enjoy the stage. my daughter enjoys the stage and actually begs to do another pageant. there are outfits and such i do not agree with on toddlers and tiaras like the pretty woman one. i think it was too much to pad your toddlers chest and booty.

for the moms who think i as a pageant mom over sexuallize my child i will be happy to show you pictures of her in and out of pageants. to show she is a perfectly normal child with typical and great self esteem for a 4 year old.

Parents that put their children in these pageants - the high makeup, gloss, gyration, whatever - where their children are so heavily done up that a 4 year old looks 40, are in complete denial of what they're doing. I can't watch this show - I've seen maybe a total of 20 minutes and that was plenty. There are natural pageants, I believe - too bad these don't seem to get as much attention. She's ridiculous.

She's going to get laughed out of court and won't receive a single penny. Who's the one dressing her child up for these pageants? Not the "multiple media outlets." She is.

Idiot.

Edit: She was on Dr. Phil this morning. I rarely watch that media hog, but I couldn't resist once I knew she would be on. She's claiming that although she gave a particular media outlet a tape of her daughter at a pet charity event acting as a DJ, the media outlet twisted it and is criticizing her mother and claimed something untrue about her daughter (that they were in a night club late at night having her sing "I'm Sexy And I Know It" when the actual DJ was feeding her the lyrics).

Honestly, the mother is outraged but it's her own fault.

I am sure there are lots of "normal" moms and kids out there that do the pageants but it seems from the show that there are plenty of loser, pathetic moms too. So many of the moms are really unattractive and or fat and so obviously living through their kids. This mom sounds like she has serious attention-seeking issues.

I agree that she has made questionable choices as a mother, I also agree that the media has made questionable choices as well. I think that all parties should stop immediately. I think the mother should be banned from entering her daughter into pagents until she is 13 and can not be coached by her mother in any way and I think these news outlets should be forced to leave them alone and allow them to try to figure out how to live like normal people.
