Tips on Strollers

I have a Graco Quattro Deluxe Stroller that I'm selling because it's heavy and bulky. I want to buy the Peg Perego Aria OH, but in reading reviews, I get mixed messages. Some moms love it (lightweight, easy to use) and some hate it (breaks easy, wheels get stuck, inconvenient to reach items in lower storage). Does anyone have experience/recommendations with strollers? My daugther is 17 months old and I'm preparing to travel with her, so I want a lightweight, easy, durable, comfortable stroller for walks in the park and airport travel.

What can I do next?

I recommend Combi if you don't care too much about under storage. I have the cosmo dx. It is light as heck and folds easilly and has a carrying strap. I think it weighs like 6lbs. I took a similar model (doesn't accompany a baby car seat) on the airlines and it was easy.

The nice thing with this model is it fully reclines (unlike an inexpensive umbrella and has a 5 pt harnass.

Good luck

My daughter is 17 months also. We have the Combi Torino and love it. We actually just returned from a trip to NYC with the stroller and it was great, even through the airports. It's very lightweight yet it has a generous canopy, a food tray, and a big basket underneath.
Good luck!

Hi M.,

I don't have a brand to tell you about but since I'm a single mommy myself and I have flown with my 3 year old since he was 6 weeks (over 15,000 miles) I just want you to know that yes lightweight is extremely important and so is holding the baby and being able to collaspe it and lock it with one hand...you think people will help you, they won't, not even the airline people most of the time. I was traveling this spring, I had a sleeping kid they decide to load us outside and it's raining, do you think one person offered to help me while I held him, and the bags and the had to fold the stroller NO...........so I would go to the store and use it for a while and see if you can fold it with hand, sorry this was so long just wanted you to know that one...take care and good luck

M.,
I have both, the Graco Quattro Tour Deluxe and the Peg Perego Aria (I sort of have a thing for strollers). We recently flew to California and I bought a Maclaren Triumph, which is now my favorite. (They have lower models which I've heard great things about, too--you can get a mesh one at Target for about $100, I think.)
Anyway, I think the Graco is just too heavy and bulky for a trip. Honestly, I'm not too impressed w/my Aria. It's lightweight which is great, but it's pretty much alot of plastic and feels really cheap (Infact, the Aria stickers peeled off before I even had a chance to take it outside. The Maclaren is the best, so far. Lightweight, easy to use, ample storage space, the handles are tall enough for me (i'm 5'8). The only issue that I had was that I had to buy a tray to go w/ it and that's another $40 bucks.
Well, hope that was helpful--Good Luck!

I have had an Aria for almost 5 years and still love it. I still use it when I don't need to use my double. The only reason we did not get the Aria double is due to the fact that my son was a big baby and I thought it might be too tight. It's not the best for use in grass or rough terrain but for everyday mall/neighborhood mine has been great. I can still turn it with one hand with either of my kids and they are both over 34lbs. Two drawbacks on mine are no tray for the kids and no tray/cup holder for me.

Good luck!
