Hello Ladies :)

We had our baby girl (our third and final child) just over 3 months ago and we are looking for information, suggestions, tips, personal experiences on vasectomies. Also, we are in need of referrals - we're looking for a doctor somewhere in the Wyoming/Grandville area. Any thoughts you have would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks!
K. :)

My hubby had it done about two years ago. He drove himself to our doctors office and back again. Stayed in bed all day with his jock strap and frozen peas and was fine the next day just continued wearing his strap through the weekend. It wasn't anywhere near as bad as he thought it would be.

My friends husband had his done last Friday and was back to work on Monday. He went to Urology Associates. Not to scare you, but back when my dad had his done in the 90's, something got clogged afterwards and there was some swelling. Honestly, I think the situation was worse than it should have been because my dad was too macho to go back in for help. He's the only man I've ever heard of having a bad experience.

My hubbie had his done about 2 months ago and he just went into the regular doctor's office. His normal doctor and one other doctor performed the procedure. He was sore for a few days, but they gave him a prescription to help ease the pain. Plus, if he would have listened to me and put ice (or frozen veggies) on it, he probably would have felt better sooner. Just make sure your hubbie has a jock strap and supportive underwear to hold things up afterwards, I know it helped my hubbie.

Hey K.! I have to tell you it's been wonderful for my husband & I since his vasectomy. Ironically he had this done the Friday before Father's Day in 2008. We had a wonderful DR by the name of Dr. William Marquis he's at 245 Cherry St. SE Suite 202 & his phone # is ###-###-####. He was referred to me by a friend as well because her husband had the same done by same DR. My biggest advice to you is make sure your insurance is accepted there first, go for the consultation, then schedule it for a time when you can be home to rest. Promise him you'll make his favorite foods & wait on him hand & foot just like he did when you gave birth. As long as he rests completely for 2-3 days he'll be fine. I don't care if he says he feels fine MAKE him rest or he'll be sorry! My husbands "best friend" after the surgery was a frozen bag of peas. They form to the area & you can alternate bags of peas when you need to. Make sure you get the testing done afterwards to make sure he's shootin' blanks. Ok? Let me know if you have any questions. I hope this helps you as much as it did for us. :) Have a great day & good luck. Keep us posted.
