I need some ideas about things to do with my toddler over the weekend. We just move to the bay area from the East coast.

I guess it depends on what city you live and how far you want to drive.
There is a lot to do around here.
Habitot Children's Museum in Berkeley, Tilden Park Merry-Go-Round, Parks, Safari Run near Burlingame, a great restaurant in Kensington (Circle Pub) that while eating dinner your child can play in the kiddie area while you eat close by, Pump-It Up Inflatable Jumpies/slides (during weekdays they are only open for parties, but the weekdays they allow individuals to come) in Oakland and Concord, Chuck E Cheese's Pizza Theater in various cities, bowling in various cities, Exploratorium in SF, Oakland and SF Zoo, Discovery Museums in San Jose and Sausalito, Scandia amusement and fun center, Marine World in Vallejo, Six Flags Great America in Santa Clara, Swimming pools (Strawberry Canyon at UC Berkeley, El Cerrito, Pinole, Albany indoor/outdoor pools)...I could go on, but not sure where you are located and how old your child is. Baby Zone is a great website that has events displayed for the weekends. I'm sure you could also review the web for other information too.
Good luck and have fun.
If you live in the North Bay (Sonoma County area), I know of a Mom's group you could join. We do a lot of fun things that are various.
It really depends on what city you live in regarding what activities, etc. you can do. If you live in the South Bay, there are tons of museums and things of that nature for kids.
Another great website is www.gocitykids.com
Hi Eurielle -
Welcome to San Jose! I see from your profile that you live close by (we live in Campbell, right next to SJ) so I can share with you the activities I do with my little one (she is 2 1/2).
First and foremost, take him to Happy Hollow Park and Zoo - it is a very small Zoo, but has just the right amount of animals and walking so that it is not exhausting to younger children. There is a really big petting zoo area that the children love, and the exhibits are all in one place and close together so that if your toddler wants to walk instead of ride in the stroller, he can easily. They also have lots of little rides geared towards smaller children (like under the age of 5), a big park to play at, and lots of fun things to see and do. CHeck out their website here:

It is IN san jose, and easily accessible - my little one and all of my friends with toddlers visit often, and have a wonderful time. It is VERY reasonably priced - you should check it out! Its supposed to be gorgeous weather this weekend, so take time to enjoy the lovely CA sunshine.
