This method also worked for my husband and me. I have the little girl and littler boy that I wanted. For this last one, we just left it up to chance and won't know what we are having until it arrives in February. Good luck to you.
Hi there!
I just finished reading the book "how to choose the sex of your baby" and was just curious if anyone has also read this book and/or had any success with using this method. We currently have 2 boys and our next child will probably be our last--we would be perfectly happy and content with a third boy but would also be thrilled to have a little girl--especially since girls are severely lacking in both mine and my husband's family. Thanks for your input!

We did it trying for a girl and got one. I didn't mess around with temperatures, I just charted my CM and ovulation for a few months and then got pregnant on the first try. We also used an ovulation predictor and tried when it showed the very faintest amount of color, showing that ovulation would start in a few days. We have a sweet princess today :) I don't know if we have her because of trying the Shettles method or if we would have had one anyway, but I am glad she's here. Good luck!
It seemed to work for us. There were about six days between "trying" and ovulation, so I didn't think I could be pregnant. Much to my surprise, I was, on the very first try. We now have a beautiful, sweet girl! It amazes me that although it's scientifically based, few people seem to have heard of it. I ran across the book by chance at a used bookstore after we had our first child. Like you, we would have been content with another boy, but decided, why not give it a try? And we're glad we did. Good luck!
I used the same book to get my boy that I had first (like we wanted) and my girl (which is what we wanted). I believe the science to be sound as I have seen the same sort of information in several other places as well. I wish you the best of luck.
Worked for us - it took a little longer to get pregnant (like 6 months,) but we got our little girl after having two boys. It takes some of the romance out when you have to time it out, but totally worth it. Good luck!
Oh, also - another good book to read is "Taking Charge of Your Fertility." This is very good for helping you to chart and find out exactly when your ovulation is and how to read your body... I think this is a really important read for any woman.
It works! My hubby and I three girls and wanted to try for a boy. A friend of mine told me it had worked for her so we tried it. We got a boy! He is five now and several of my friends have used it as well and it worked. I did use ovulation kits as well as checking the other things they said. Good luck! Have fun trying!

I used a different book and it didn't work for us....
I also read "How To Choose the Sex of Your Baby" but we had no luck with it. I just had baby girl number 4. I didn't read the book until we started trying for baby number 3. It didn't work for us for #3 or #4. I have somewhat irregular cycles that are hard for me to chart for some reason. But I have had four friends that used this method and 3 of them were successful. We are going to try one more time and then we are done. We have a 4, 3, 1 1/2 an almost 3 month old and I'm in school full-time so we'll call it good after our next one. We are completely happy with our girls but it would be nice to have a little boy in the mix. But good luck to you!
I didn't read the book but I read all about the Shettle's method on the internet. I used it to try for a girl, and I am having a girl :-) So, I think it works pretty well. I do know others who have used it and not had it work for them. But, I do think it definatley raises your chances for having the sex you want.
