A.,
I highly recommend the Phil and Ted's e3. We started with the Graco double (front and back orientation) and hated it from the beginning. It's very hard to steer and took up most of the cargo space in my Outback. We thought we had to accept this as just the nature of the beast with two small tots.
The e3 is lighter and SO much more maneuverable! You can steer around tight isles in shops and get it up a curb with little effort.
It does have a few drawbacks, though. You might want to read some reviews before committing, but here is what I’ve found with ours:
• No attached accessories for parents – I bought a matching water bottle holder which doubles as a fanny pack so we’d have a place for drinks and keys. It is strapped around the handle bar and is big enough to hold two bottles, keys, a small wallet, and a pack of tissues, but not a cup of coffee, as it does not sit completely vertically.
• No cargo area to speak of. When I purchased mine the website gave me a free diaper bag that attaches to the side of the stroller like the P&T panniers do.
• Tires are air inflated, which can be a pain during goathead season. Because my husband and I are cyclists, we remedied the situation by using slime and tire liners and carrying a compact bike pump, and we’ve had few flats. A bike shop can do this for you.
• No latch to keep the stroller folded, at least on our older model. Could cause problems if you go through airports often.
• Not much of a view for the child in back seat. My kids don’t seem to mind though as there is plenty to look at from the side.
All of this said, though, we would never go back! It is an investment, but totally worth it!
Hope this helps.
