It is not that I require this type of supervision! When I meet the production standard, she raises it, when she does, she comes and embarrasses me by saying I am not doing enough work so her 'cronies' can hear. When I was having trouble walking, and parked to use a door closer to my area (that everyone is allowed to use), so as not to walk as far, she told me NOT to do that again, even when I explained why I did it, she said, I do not care, 'YOU HAVE TO WALK THROUGH THE BUILDING LIKE EVERYBODY ELSE'! I hd nt asked for my rightful accomodations under the people w/disabilties act becuase I was afraid they would somehow use this to fire me! It seems they want to make work to hard for me, since they know, forcing me to quit, they see me as a liabilty. Human resources ignored my requests to meet, so finally in an email I explained my situation. This also was ignored, finally I admitted I ws in a hostile environment, that I feared I was being discriminated against! They then retaliated, my supervisor has become worse since. Now I am harrassed again and again by anything just to frustrate me. I cannot afford to quit, I nd my paycheck and I nd the insurance. No job wld be the kiss of death for me because I MUST HAVE meds and doctor's care, see??? At least if they fire me, I can get unemplo

What can I do next?

Thank you, Dawn, and again, everyone. Listen, I am no dummy! I have documentation from when this began. All AT HOME. I was not planning on relying on 'Mommy' advice, just needed confirmation. I actually sent al l my documents to an atty a month or so ago, they snt me bk a letter w/referrals to call. My ducks are in a row, I have done nothing wrong, more importantly, I have God on my side! THANK YOU ALL!!!

Your boss is trying to do an indirect push out - that is illegal! I used that verbiage at my former place of work and HR came running and my boss came running to apologize. It sounds like you work for a small company b/c they didn't flinch or protect you when you told them you are in a hostile work environment. Most companies have a whistleblower policy - look into whether yours has one or not.

Don't count on unemployment. If you can't tell I do HR. We keep files on every employee that we may question their long term employment. None of them would receive unemployment if we fired them.

Please speak to an attorney!

Bullying is not acceptable. Get a lawyer.

Send them one last email, letting them know that unless they agree to listen and acknowledge your issues, you will be contacting a lawyer. Also, document everything if you haven't already and have it prepared for when you do meet with them. If they don't you seriously, at least you will have that documentation to turn over to a lawyer.

Thanks for the update - we had no idea that you already had an attorney - that is GREAT news! I'm sure you'll rest easier when you know whether or not to sign that letter!

Original:

Make a copy of every email - you've done that, right? I looked back at your May entry after writing you earlier today, and someone told you document, document, document. Did you do that? Do you have notes on when, where, all of it? Do you have copies of all your stellar reviews from your other boss?

If you haven't done that, you'd better get started.

You will at least be able to draw unemployment if you handle this LETTER right. That's why I am telling you to call a lawyer instead of asking the ladies here. I don't think anyone on here is a workplace attorney. You MUST have legal advice and not mommy advice. It's nice that you value our opinions, but opinions are worth nothing compared to the law.

Please work on getting the lawyer involved, getting all your papers together, your calendar, your email copies, your reviews - everything. And make sure they are at home and not in your desk. That way you can take them to the lawyer. He or she can help you with the labor board.

If you think you can't afford a lawyer, then you might as well walk out the door, because the end of your time is coming in this office. You can make them pay for what they are doing to you by hiring a lawyer, or you can be without a job and possibly be without unemployment benefits by going on mom opinion. It's your choice. You NEED to be getting a lawyer to tell you exactly what to do with the letter first. And get all that documentation together.

At least the lawyer will tell you if you have a case. You don't even know that now.

Good luck,
Dawn

I would also suggest contacting the EEOC. What they are doing is certainly not fair, but more importantly, sounds illegal.
