Just wanted to reach out and see how our Texas mamas are doing. TF, I think you're well north of the flooding but don't know where everyone else is. Hope you are safe and dry...we're praying for you!

What can I do next?

I am in Houston and it is unreal. I have friends and family under mandatory evacuations. Others I know are flooded and wondering what next. Fortunately we are dry so far. Honestly we are all just doing the best we can. Please keep us in mind as the coming weeks leave us without the media coverage to continue the help we are going to desperately need going forward.

We flew out of Houston on Thursday to surprise my father in law for his 90th bday. Both our trucks (with tools for our businesses) are there and we have no idea what we're going to find when we get back. I know we will be fine, it's just stuff and small in comparison to what others have lost.

We are stranded right now. Can't fly into Houston Hobby obviously and our flight for Thursday was just cancelled so now it looks like Saturday at the earliest. Again, a small inconvenience compared to the heartache and loss of so many.

Please keep everyone in your prayers, especially the first responders. They are working tirelessly and putting themselves in danger to rescue others. This is going to be a long haul to recovery. We will come back, thanks to so many helping. God bless and keep everyone involved.

My poor mom is in Sugar Land and her area has a voluntary evacuation order now. She said the roads in her neighborhood are so filled w water she cannot drive out. I hate it that she is all alone and stuck there. I really hope the storm stops soon and her house doesn't get damage. She has duct taped the doors to try to stop water from coming in.

I've got my cousin who lost her home...it's sad...their back deck is a dock now.

Two mama's on here are in Houston - they are safe. I'll let them know you were asking about them! VERY sweet of you!

Thank you JB! I'm in the north Dallas area and all clear here.

We have spotty showers but nothing like what's going on in Houston.

Prayers to all in the path of this storm!!

I'm in SA but I have family who have lost a home in Rockport. Also, three parts of family flooded in the Houston area. (They have standing water in their homes).

We were bunkered down with supplies and our home sand bagged but it missed us by about 50 miles. Still got a lot of rain but no flooding, thank God!!

Great thought J B., it was very kind of you to reach out to these ladies. It seems most of the moms and their families are fine, 2kidmama, let us know how your mother is doing. I hope her house is okay as well. Lori H., hoping your trucks, tools and other possessions are okay as well. Hoping this new Hurricane Irma forming in the Atlantic spares the United States. Have a great long weekend, everyone and stay safe!
