Congratulations! When I got pregnant with my first child, I bought my husband a baby rattle. He came home from work and I told him I had a present for him and gave him the rattle. He was thrilled.
I am pregnant. Woohoo!!!! It's my second pregnancy, and I was wondering if anyone had any creative ideas for how to tell my husband. Last time, I baked him a pie and gave him a card that said "you're going to be a dad." What could I do to make it special this time..
Thanks,
C.
So many great ideas!! I decided to do a couple of them. I wrapped up the pregnancy test as a Christmas present and I had my son wear a "I'm the big brother" shirt, and he gave the present to my husband. Of course my husband was thrilled and he loved that our little boy was the one that "told" him. I'm going to have our son wear the Big Brother t-shirt to tell our family too and just wait until they notice, but I'm going to try to wait until Christmas to tell them.

since christmas is fast approaching why not buy two outfits one pink and one blue with matching bibs saying daddys little girl/boy!!!
Then bake a christmas themed cake that says Merry Christmas to my soon to be daddy!
Congrats!!!!
Since you baked last time, why don't you bake again....this time bake dinner rolls (if you don't want to make homemade, the frozen kind you bake are good!)and post a note on the oven which says "there is a bun in the oven" or "your bun is in the oven".....then ask him to please get the rolls out for you when the timer goes off.....and he will see the note. Just a silly idea!!
congratulations!!
How about a small airplane banner? I don't think they cost THAT much.

There are a lot of great suggestions in the list. Something else you might consider...you could do a small family tree with your names, the grandparents, your first child, and a ? for the baby's name and the approximate birth date and give it as an early Christmas gift.
Congratulations! How about getting big brother a shirt that says "Im the big brother" and have him wear it when dad comes home. (See how long it takes him to notice) My daughter was so proud of her big sis shirt that she had to wear it to the hospital to meet her baby sister. It also makes a great keepsake. Good Luck!
I bought my daughter a t-shirt that said "I'm a big sister" and had him open it. For me it was on father's day, but you could do an early Christmas present. Or just have your fist child wear it one day.
Is this a surprise pregnancy? Or were you trying to get pregnant? Just wondering, because if you were trying he may already have some idea. Unless he is one of those totally clueless types. Maybe by a baby's first Christmas ornament and give it to him to put on the tree. He'll question it (since your oldest has probably already had his first Christmas)..then surprise! It's the "new" baby's first Christmas!
Congrats !!!! It was close the Christmas when I found out we were going to be blessed w/a 2nd child, so I wrapped up the Positive home pregnancy test in a beautiful packages and gave it to my husband and then 2 yr old son on Christmas morning.... I still have the photo and the priceless look on my husbands face. We were not trying to have any more kids, but somehow God thought we needed 3 sons! Best of luck to you. Merry CHRISTmas,
D.
i haven't read the other advice so i'm sorry if i am repeating someones - but one way i told relatives we were expecting again was i had my daughter wear a "big sister" t-shirt and i just waited until they noticed - as for telling my husband i put the pregnancy test in a card (although i was lucky and it was father's day)
good luck and congrats!
You could get a picture frame that says "I love my KidS(the s indicating there is more than 1):). You could take a picture of your child, holding a sign that says "Baby brother/sister coming soon!. Let us know what you decide!
I vote for the "Big Brother" shirt! However, if your son is about to change sizes, I would go ahead and get the next larger size so he can wear it when the baby is born (it'll save you some much-needed $$$).
CONGRATULATIONS!
Since it's getting so close to Christmas, maybe you can put your pregnancy test in a box, wrap it and have him open an early X-mas present.
Tell him that you just can't wait for Christmas to give it to him.
Good luck and Congratulations!
Let us know what you go with!
I took a digital picture of my positive home pregnancy test and then asked my husband to download the camera onto the computer for me. His reaction was priceless.
I wish you a happy, healthy pregnancy & birth.
What if you take him out to dinner & have the waiter slip the 1st sonogram in the plastic cover thing that the bill comes in? Then you could give him a congratulations card!? Or how 'bout if you make him his favorite dinner & surprise him w/a special dessert, like a brand-new infant cake? You could take a regular Hostess Twinkie & ice it in yellow (if you don't know the sex yet). Then you could take one little donut hole & frost it flesh color & put eyes, nose,& mouth, etc on it & place it on top. Or even easier yet...have you ever played that game at a baby shower when they have ya sculpt a little baby, any way you want to, out of a piece of Bazooka bubble-gum? You're not supposed to wet it. Maybe just dampen your fingers a tiny bit. You could wait till the right moment then tell him you love him so much & that you want to share a very precious piece of gum w/him. I know...kinda corny, but you asked for ideas! Let us all know how you went about it! S. :)
I think the "Big Brother" or "Big Sister" shirt is an awsome idea!! Dad probably wont notice immeadiately, but when it hits him, Woo Hoo!! Congradulations
Congrats !!!!you could always do a dinner : with a baby in the food
example -baby back ribs ,baby carotts then tell him that all the thing have a meaning
Congratulations!!! Since you baked him a pie the first time, maybe you should go with the same theme. Make him little cookies in the shapes of booties and rattles and stuff. Or just make cookies with pastel pink and blue frosting. I've also heard of someone writing on their belly with body paint that says "baby #2" or something. Or make it it a whole family experience where you set the table for 4. I could go on and on! Congratulations. Have fun telling your hubby!!
if he takes his lunch pack something in his lunchbox that such as a note with your name, your child name and then with a ? mark.
If you have anything you wore with the first one, start wearing it again and ask him, How do I look in this? see if he can catch the hint.
I also like the idea of the early christmas gift with the test results in it as well as the baby brother or siter shirt.
Not sure how old the first one is, but if he is no longer a baby you could always get a bumper sticker that reads baby on board.
by the Way congrulations, and please let us know how you will tell him. I wish the best for you
I remember with my 2nd child, my husband told me we were going to have baby, when I asked him how did he know, it was due to the morning sickness. LOL

Not sure if you have had your first sono yet but if so this could work. Say there is something new on the tree for him to look for.
Wrap up the pregnancy test and give it to him for Christmas!!
