Teething - Colorado Springs, CO

My son is only 3months and teething already. He can't hold a teething ring or anything in his mouth yet so he just gnaws on his fist. I've tried holding teething rings in his mouth for him, but he didn't seem to like that! He's been very grumpy since I'm sure he's in pain... and we just got the ok to use baby oragel which seemed to help, but I don't want to use that too much. Anyone have any other advice?

What can I do next?

We did the frozen washcloth thing too. She preferred that over teething rings. Also, a lot of moms swear on Hylands teething tablets. They can be dissolved in water for babies. I would check with your pediatrician first before trying any homeopathic remedies though.

You can try taking a small baby washcloth wetting it and putting it in the freezer for a little while. All od my kids loved this method and they could hold on to it at a young age. Mine never liked any of the teething rings or chew toys for teething. Good luck : )

Teething tablets! You can dissolve them in water, but they litterally dissolve instantly in their mouth.

We used to use really small ice chips and frozen spoons. It was a lot easier to place a spoon in some ice water too, especially if we were out and about, and then hand that to my daughter.

She also liked to chew on my leather watch band, but you do go through a lot of watch bands pretty fast, so I won't recommend it. :D

My kids hated their teething toys, they preferred their hands or shirt or blankie. Try teething tablets, or even see if you can do tylenol especially at times when he sleeps so he is comfortable. I would put a wet wash rag in the freezer for 20 minutes and let it solidify and let my kids chew on that and they LOVED that! I hated oragel as if their throats get numb they can choke, I never used that stuff. Try the teething tablets which will melt on their tongue immediately or tylenol.

We did the frozen washcloth. Also, vibrating teethers or frozen gel filled teethers. The cold really helps. GL! I hope those teeth come in soon!
