My Daughter will be 8 months on May 5th and we just found out that she's teething again. She already has her bottom 2 teeth, now she's getting her top 2. She's not sleeping that good... will that change at all? cause i'm not sleeping good either.

What can I do next?

When my son's first top two teeth were coming in I recall it was the worst teething he went through - he was also 8 months at the time. I would give him some Infant Tylenol and if that did not help, then some Infant Motrin. Also you can try the baby orajel swabs for temporary relief. All subsequent teeth were easier than these top two. Good luck!

You can also try Hyland's teething tabs. They're homeopathic, and can be found at most drug stores. They work like magic. We alternate Tylenol with Hyland's. Oragel or Anbesol can also help, but your baby may not like the taste (mine made SUCH a face when we tried it). The mesh bags with frozen fruit, which someone else suggested, is also supposed to be a great remedy, though we haven't tried it yet.

Good luck! I feel your pain - exhausted!

tylenol, some teething gel and popcicals i have six and they all teethed. the baby might have a slight fever too. motrin and tylenol combined might work i recommend motrin at night cause it lasts longer. also a cold clean wet cloth to bite on...

I agree with all the other moms about Motrin and Tylenol - but something else that I ended up doing for Samantha during dinner time was to put either frozen banana, mango, or other fruit inside one of those mesh bags that you can get at Babies R Us. I forget what they're called, but babies can suck on them. So, I'd freeze the fruit, put in the bag, rinse it under water for a second and let her go to town.

I think the combination of chewing and the cold really numbed her gums before the bedtime hour. But there were definitely nights she still needed Motrin or Tylenol because it just sounded so painful. I cried along with her - just felt so bad.

OH - and I also would rock her and let her chew on a cold teether if she was crying.

Good luck and hang in there. It's only temporary!

Our son had 12 teeth by his 1st birthday!!! Sleeping will be tough for a while. Try Highland's Teething tablets! They are all natural and really helped our son get some rest. You can get them at Rite Aid or Walmart. Good luck!

teething hurts.. remember that.. so the sleepless nights are hard, but she's going thru some tough stuff right now.. Motrin motrin motrin! I've read that if adults had to endure the pain of teething, we couldn't handle it.. think about it.. a pointy hard thing pushing it's way thru your soft delicate gums... ouch!!! It doesn't last forever and once the teeth pop out, you get to enjoy those goofy teethy grins!

Hi! Our son will be 9 months this Sunday and he already has 7 teeth and has been working on the 8th for a couple of weeks now. Can you believe how many he has? We have found that infant Motrin works the best when he is having a hard time with the teething. A couple of the teeth have been really bad and he has gotten low grade fevers but again the Motrin helps with that also. We never liked the gels. It will pass and every couple teeth might not bother your baby but than some will. Good luck!!!

Jenn,
I am now on my third teething baby (!!!), and it usually gets worse, particularly when the larger molars start coming in. You could give your baby Tylenol if she's really uncomfortable (esp. at night). Also, freezing a wet wash cloth helps; allow her to chew on that. I haven't had much success with the teething gels.

Definitely talk to your pedi. for more suggestions!!! Good luck :)

Teething can be painful for them. Try giving her tylenol before bed. Also raise her mattress at her head alittle, use a pillow or something. You know when you have a tooth ache it hurts when you lay down. My son who is now 1 went through a 2 month period where he was up all night due to teething. Hope things settle down abit for you.

Hi J.,
My daughter is 20 months and she only has 4 teeth!! Whenever we seem to lack any sleep that's the only excuse I come up with "Oh she must be teething" I find that the Moltrin works the best.It last much longer than the tylenol.
They also have these new mini popsicles perfect baby size that Isabella loves the cold on her gums...

I'm in the same boat. My son just turned 9 months on the 2nd. He got his top teeth first followed quickly by one bottom tooth and now the other is starting to try to come through. Last night he woke up crying twice.
Are you a stay at home mom?

when my son was teething i just gave him some tylenol before he went to bed. that seemed to work fine. he also chewed on his pacifier. but otherwise the teething didn't seem to bother him.

Hi J.-have you given her any tylenol or motrin? That helped my daughter Sully sleep through the night.

she is working on her 2 year molars right now and we have had almost a week of sleepless nights until last night when I gave her some motrin and tylenol.
