I had good luck with crest white strips (premium?) whatever there top of the line product is. You have to use them repeatedly, but they work. Then maintain it with a whitening toothpaste which contains baking soda and hydrogen peroxide.
does anyone know or has anyone tried a home made teeth whitening concoction? my husband wants to purchase one of those thousand dollars teeth whitening kits (not really that much im exaggerating) to whiten his teeth. I tried one of those kits and they make your teeth so sensitive! and it kind of hurts too. to me i just dont think its worth the money. how about baking soda? any suggestions? Happy Monday mamas!
Do the crest whitestrips make your teeth sensitive? I am talking like tingly? or sensitive to hot/cold?

I use Crest white strips twice/year after I get my teeth cleaned and it works great. That's just $80/year.
Added- they don't make my teeth sensitive (I have been using them for at least ten years) so I use the highest level, my daughter is sensitive with those so she bumps it down.
I use the Crest white strips. They work well along with regular dental cleaning.
I have sensitive teeth so for me, yes they make my teeth a bit more sensitive for a couple of days. I use Synsodyne (sp) Repair and Protect toothpaste with whiteners as well and I love it.
My dentist also sells a pen type whitener that you just roll on your teeth. They are about $25. I have not used it but my daughter did and liked it.
HOW TO MAKE YOUR TEETH 'SNOW WHITE'
-Put a tiny bit of toothpaste into a
small cup,
mix in one teaspoon baking soda
plus one
teaspoon of hydrogen peroxide, and
half a
teaspoon water.
Thoroughly mix then brush your
teeth for two minutes. Remember to
do it once a week until you have
reached the results you want. Once
your teeth are good and white, limit
yourself to using the
whitening treatment once every
month or two
Yes they make your teeth sensitive, all bleaching products do. they open up the dentinal tubules so that the bleach can get in. You can reduce the sensitivity by using sensodyne for a couple of weeks prior, and make sure to put vaseline on your lips , otherwise they will ulcerate after a week or so of treatment with whitestrips. Crest whitestrips is what we recommend at our dental clinic, we supply the professional strength ones, but the ones in walmart work pretty good too. I have had reasonable luck with the $5 5 mintues whitening gel at walmart.
