Thanking someone and letting them know you appreciate them is always a good thing. How thoughtful of you!
Well the first week on kindergarten for my "baby" will be ending tomorrow. It has been a fantastic week for her, she loves it. There are sooo many people that have contributed to the success of the first school week- teachers, aides, office staff, cafeteria etc... (The school is PK and K only so you can imagine the chaos!) I want to show some appreciation by taking a treat to them tomorrow to put in the teachers lounge. I was thinking of a few cookie platters from the bakery. Is that a good idea? My main question is should I include a card from my daughter or just a generic card- or no card at all? I know that they dont all personally know her so what should I write?
Thanks moms!
The staff loved it! I brought mini cupcakes, cookies and a variety of breakfast breads. Total spent 30.00- Well worth it! I sent two cards, one to the whole staff and one to my daughters teacher. I got a thank you card that afternoon. Thanks for the help!

I love this idea!
I would put a little sign next to it simply saying... "Thank you to everyone who helped make our daughter's first week a success!" Sincerely, The Smith Family (daughter's name, teacher's name)
I think that is a great idea...teachers have a rough first week too since all the kids are adjusting to new lives.
Great idea! Sure, make the card from your daughter. And write in your own words that it was a fantastic week for her, and she loves it.
Love it! And I would word the card as Krista P. wrote. What a wonderful idea!
As a former teacher, I love the idea. If you want them to know it is from you, I would put what Krista P. said. As a teacher, I would love to get a personal card from your daughter and you to hang in the classroom--and then later go to the lounge and eat some goodies that are labeled- "Thanks _________ School staff for a great first week of school! "
My kids and I made these cute cards for their teachers and wrote on the inside "Thank you for being my tea-cher!"
You took my idea!
I have HUGE love for teachers and since my son has an IEP for his speech he gets a lot of attention at school and I REALLY appreciate all their work.
I've been baking and freezing stuff all week long for them. I don't think some chocolate chip cookies or some banana bread can hurt.
I can just IMAGINE what it's like to be a teacher the first week of school. :)
IMO, yes your daughter should make a card. I would write something like "My first week of school was awesome! Thank you!".
Nice gesture for sure.
Personally, I wouldn't publicly announce who it's from. Leave it for Miss XYZ with the office staff, who will promptly share with all in the lounge. She'll know who it's from.
