Middle school here.
I donated drinks to the teacher appreciation luncheon.
I wrote an email to O. teacher who has gone above and beyond this year, thanking her specifically for her efforts.

My 4th grader brought his teacher Mr. Goodbar's (she loves them) and will be getting her a DD gift card.

My 2nd grader gave $10 towards the class gift and also brought him in a pack of YooHoo's (his favorite) and will be making him a book about Abraham Lincoln - his teacher has already written a book so this is just my 8 year olds facts about him.

My 6th grader isn't. We can't do 6 teachers for just her and two of them honestly drive both of us up a wall. So she will just be making the ones she likes thank you notes.

I usually get something for my son's bus driver but that is it. That woman! My son has autism so not exactly mr get up and go in the morning. Our house is a straight shot from the bus stop so if she sees me coming she waits for him. I feel like I owe her a mortgage payment or something. :)

His teachers are great but in high school he has a hundred of them, my daughter in junior high, pretty much the same. That bus driver, bless her!

Our PTO organizes something each year. Usually it's food in the teacher's lounge. One year I made a couple of desserts. This year they asked parents from each grade to bring in something specific. If I can do what they ask, great. If not, I'll do my best another year.

I give the teachers a giftcard at Christmas and another one at the end of the year, so I don't usually do anything, personally, for Teacher Appreciation Week.

Actually, I've always though tit was kind of strange that Teacher Appreciation Week is a few weeks before the end of the year for so many students. It seems a thank you on the last day of school makes more sense.

A bunch of us are going in on a gift card: teacher is an artist, the card will be for the local great art shop.

Yesterday a parent brought in a vase with some greens and the kids brought flowers. We ended up with four vases full in the classroom. This teacher is very beloved and puts 110% into his classes... we are all lucky to have him!

Our school has the lunches all week for teachers - so one day it is soup and sandwiches, another yogurt bar, another salad day. We just send in foods to support that.

We give gifts at Christmas and end of year (gift cards generally). Sometimes along with some locally made jam, etc.

I am participating in PTA activities and we are collecting "I appreciate my teacher for..." notes for DD's particular class. I didn't get them anything else specific.

My son is in 6th grade and has 2 full time teachers, we give each a $20 bill in a card and he writes something in it. My daughter is in HS and she has 7 teachers so she said she wanted to give her favorite teacher a bottle of his favorite soda and the 6 other teachers each a big Hershey's chocolate bar, so that's what we did. Next year when my son has 7 teachers also they will probably get something like this as well.

We do little things every day:
1. a flower from the yard/garden
2. a homemade card
3. a school supply
4. a piece of fruit
5. a healthy snack
These are recommended by our PTA, but aren't required. My daughter's preschool also does the first three on the list.

Another thing we do at my daughter's school is provide lunch and dinner for the teachers all week. People either cook or get them take out. Some people go in on the meals together, or one person cooks while another pays for the groceries. It's a nice thing to do for them.

I don't give a bigger gift this week, but I give a $20-25 gift card at Christmas and the end of the year.

We have something each day- flowers (my boys each picked different colored roses), treat day (Ghirardelli squares), drink day (powdered drink tubes), summer fun day (Otter pops), and picture/note day. In addition, they have a snack cart that the PTO has a sign up to fill, lunch each day, and a special lunch today where the teachers all eat together and parents volunteer to monitor the kids over the lunch break. We also do holiday, teacher birthdays, baby shower gift for the one who had a baby, and end of year gifts. And one of the main purposes for PTO funds is classroom grants and teacher bonuses, so I feel like our school does a good (though sometimes exhausting) job appreciating our fabulous teachers!!

I made apple rose tarts for their classroom teachers (google apple roses) and my kids are going to make cards that say "thanks for helping me bloom." My daughter is also making a veggie tray as part of a Girl Scout badge and we are going to take that into the teachers' lounge. PTSA is hosting a sub sandwich lunch for all the teachers tomorrow.

Our school organizes it so it's not too hard or expensive. They send home a list of every staff member's favorite drink and snack. We are encouraged to recognize multiple people. This year my son's teacher is getting a Hershey bar and a thank-you card. It's nice because it's not something that will go to waste, and it can even be healthy stuff if they want. I saw one person had put dried fruit and bottled water :)

My elementary school son's room mom has organized a little gift giving schedule for each day. We send in a note one day, one day a flower from your garden, one day a sweet treat...etc. Simple stuff.

I head up Hospitality at my daughter's middle school. I have planned a few fun things for the teachers/staff and I have a list of parents who contribute.I also have a PTA budget. One day we did a Nacho Bar, one day a big lunch and another day I will put out a big bowl of mini chocolate bars.

I have each of my kids write "Thank You" cards to the teachers they appreciate most. Two of my kids have dozens of teachers due to trimester schedule. So, they just pick a couple of their most favorite teachers.

It is a time to show gratitude and appreciation and to show others how much you care.

I work in a middle school and am so grateful. Yesterday we got donuts and coffee and today they left us with the cutest trinkets telling us we lit up their children's lives. It is so nice to feel appreciated and I am currently a teaching assistant! And we are being treated to a luncheon friday! woohoo!!!

I get my kids elementary teachers a gift card at Christmas and at then end of the year. They are usually just $5 for Tim Hortons or Starbucks. For teacher appreciation week the parent councils organize parents to bring in goodies for the staff room all week and host a potluck lunch on Friday. That parent council also purchases some nice soaps and hand lotions for the staff washrooms and that sort of thing.
