You know how kids will overhear something and then mispronounce it later. My four year old son told me the other day that I was "flexy." Even though I thought his mispronounciation was cute, I didn't think that it was cute that he was intending to say sexy. I tell both of my boys that it is not appropriate for children to say "hot" as in "hot chick" or "sexy." I know they are not viewing girls in this way, they are just repeating what they hear others say.
They have a friend (6) whose father encourages him to say things like "hot chicks," "babes," and the likes. I do not agree with it and I tell my sons that even though thier friend may say these things, they are not allowed to. I have even said this in front of the father thinking that he may get a hint.
It angers me that the media sensationalizes sex as well. How can toilet paper and sub sandwiches be sexy? I have written a few letters to companies that use sex to market thier products. I will not buy thier products as well.
