We also did a swim class through ECFE in the district (the catalog that should come in the mail). It was not as expensive as some of these places listed and I thought they did a good job.
Hi,
I would like to know if you can recommend some nice swimming lessons in Eagan for my 3 1/2 years old son (preferable for Sat morning).
He is going to Wise - Apple Valley and he loves it!!
thanks everyone!

Ditto for Wise Swim School in Apple Valley.
Family Swim School. They're fantastic. I've found Foss to be crowded and loud. http://www.familyswim.com/
Is there a Foss Swim School near you? They do a terrific job. Expensive, but worth every penny.
We've been happy with both Wise Swim School in Apple Valley and the 196 community ed at Black Hawk.
My co-worker has been pleassed with IDS 196-

I second the Family Swim School, but it doesn't have Saturday mornings. It isn't cheap, but the water is warm, the class sizes are small and the teachers are very experienced. Both of my boys are excellent swimmers because of the Family Swim School. (Eagan location doesn't have the best locker room setup, but it's worth it.) Let me know if you have any questions.
The Southwest Family YMCA located at 550 Oppermann Drive(by West Publishing). Check out schedules at ymcatwincities.org. My 3 yr old loves the YMCA!!!!!
It's not actually in Eagan, but my son has taken lessons at Wise Swim School on 42 & Johnny Cake in Apple Valley & loves it!
The Southwest YMCA. My daughter has been swimming there since she was 6 months old.
Wise Swim School has been great for us, too. However, it has some limitations once the kids get beyond a certain level. My 6 year old, for instance, is ready for a YMCA-type class. She has excellent skills in the crawl and the backstroke, but is ready to be pushed a little more. Ultimately, Wise is great for introducing swimming, learning to swim under water, learning the basic strokes, and then you'll need to switch to a more progressive program.
I agree with the mom who recommended Foss Swim School. Weekends do tend to be a lot busier than weekdays, but they are worth the hassle. All 3 of my kids have taken lessons there and have become quite the swimmers. Expensive, but very worth it.
