M.P.
Taking Vitamin E and also I use Enfuselle Hand & Body Lotion and Enfuselle Shower Gel. Both have vitamin E and C in them and I love the way my sking feels.
Any cream recommendations to minimize the appearance of surgical scars??? Thanks!!!
my surgery went ok, I had a different dr. then I thought, and she was a new grad!!! Not happy as she really did not know what she was doing and did not have a steady hand...I had more bruising then normal and they said I could go back to work the next day, but with two black eyes they told me to stay home...
Pray that the biopsy cames back normal...

Definitely vitamin E.
Quite honestly.......I wear my surgical scars like battle wounds......it's my personal comfort level - especially the one from my biopsy that led to my cancer diagnosis. I'm almost hoping it never goes away so I don't forget everything involved and how it changed my life.
My surgeon recommended mederma. I'm a little like DanaW though. I had cancer and I don't worry much about the scars. I'm just happy to have my life! The one for my chemo port is pretty noticeable, but I'm going to have surgery there again to take it out, so I didn't bother with the medicine. Hopefully it works well for you.
This will sound ridiculous, but use Silly Putty. I had knee surgery and had a big, nasty purple scar on the front of my knee. If you take Silly Putty and rub it on your scar, it will actually take the redness away. Do it for 5-10 minutes a few times a day. The redness comes back initially, but over time it will stay away permanently--seriously!!!
i've never used it myself, but i have heard emu oil will heal scars beautifully. my friend got burned real bad and after a few days he started putting emu oil on it several times a day. I saw him about 5 days later and i could barely even see where he got burned. That was a fresh scar, if you will, but google it... i've read tons of good stuff about it.
I used lotion to massage my scars as they healed, which helped keep them flat (I liked coco butter). Just put a little on the scar and gently massage back and forth along the line for a minute or so. My scars are almost invisible, which is good since I had a double breast reductions that left a lot of lines to heal!
Vitamin E & Mederma.
To know... many insurance companies will also cover plastic surgery to correct surgical scarring. Then the plastic surgeon will also usually give you vitE and Mederma, but some have others that they prefer.
There of a bunch of over-the-counter remedies, like Mederma, and apparently they do work a little.
I love my scars. They show that I've lived and remind me of my life. It's like patina on furniture.
HI M.,
Yes, I would recommend Enfuselle C&E Repair by Shaklee. Their skin care is awesome, but what would you expect from the #1 natural company in the US! I think there is a video on You Tube of a man that had scarring that was helped by this product. Let me know if you have any questions and I can help you. Thanks, M. You can be Green and Gorgeous!
PS Be careful what you put on your body- I hope your scars aren't from breast cancer or something like that, but many commercial products contain toxic chemicals. Please read 'Not Just A Pretty Face- The Ugly Side of the Beauty Industry' by Stacy Malkin - this could save your life.
We usually use a combination of aloe vera gel and cocoa butter for scars but understand surgical scars can run deeper than a scar from just falling and hurting yourself. I still have the scar from the c-section. I just wear it with pride. I hope this helps.
