My husband & I are hosting a Superbowl party and plan on about a dozen guests. I'm stumped as to what to feed everyone. We're definately going to have chili & chicken wings but so far that's all I can come up with. Do any of you have any suggestions as to what to serve? Any advice would be appreciated! TIA

WOW!!! Thanks everyone for your responses. I think we'll have a great party (and I'll probably have to post a question after the bowl about how to lose all the weight I've gained from all your wonderful recipes)! Thanks again Moms... I knew I could count on you!

Is everyone bringing a dish or are you providing all the food? We always go to a party where everyone brings a dish and baked Mac and cheese was a hit. Also green bean cassarole (so that you get some veggies in there too). How about Calzones. Good luck and GO PATRIOTS !!!!!

Hi B., I know you've already receive a ton of great ideas, but this is something we always serve for New Year's Eve, Superbowls, etc. and it's always a great hit. You need a package of Lil smokies, package of bacon and some brown sugar. I usually cut the bacon in 1/4ths. You wrap the bacon around the smokies and put them in your baking dish. Sprinkle brown sugar on them and bake at 350 for about an hour. Until the bacon looks done. They are so good.

I found this quote, hope it helps! Have fun!

Super Bowl party people are a hungry lot. The key is serving food that tastes great and doesn't keep you in the kitchen too long.

Chips and dips, pretzels and mixed nuts are always good to have on hand for munching during the game. For a fast, easy meal, order a long, pre-cut deli sandwich or buy sandwich fixings and let guests put together their own. Or, go the tailgate route with burgers and hot dogs.

Want something a little more substantial for the big boys in the crowd? Plan a chili potluck where everybody brings a pot of their favorite recipe (or takeout for the less culinary.) You'll feed your crowd and possibly find a new fave.

Look on Food Network's website for Rachel Ray's 30-Minute Meals...she recently had some yummy recipes that are easy to make and great for large gatherings. The show's topic may have even referenced "Superbowl Party...'. Or, throw some ribs in a slow cooker. SO easy to make and super yummy.

chips and queso and/or salsa is always a good football party item. Just make sure people don't drip anything on your floor :) I've also had fruit, veggie, or cheese trays. For something sweet to eat, I've ordered cake from the nearby grocery store as well as baked cookies.

I know you have already received some great ideas but I wanted to throw mine in too! We are hosting our 2nd Super Bowl Party and what we do is buy deli meats and cheeses, sub rolls and all of the condiments for make-it-yourself sandwiches. We usually supply the drinks too but we have our guests bring chips/dips and desserts. It works out great for everyone and since we make it a family event the sandwiches prove to be less messy! Have fun!!!

We served this last year and it was a big hit.
Get a bunch of peeled shrimp and sprinkle steak seasoning on them. Then cut bacon into 1/2's or 1/3's and wrap the bacon around the shrimp. Put them on skewers so that the ends are secure and grill until cooked. If you are careful you can get the bacon nice and crispy. Watch out for flare-ups because of the fat in the bacon.

Any kind of dip, veggie tray with ranch dip or onion dip, nachoes...you can keep some nacho cheese warm in a croc-pot and have chips, tomoatoes, sour cream, etc. available for people to build their own, cocktail meatballs (also kept warm in a croc-pot), deviled eggs, a meat & cheese tray with deli rolls (you can get a big bag of them at Costco), the chili is good, maybe have some hotdogs so people can make chili-dogs, and shredded cheese, chips and salsa or bean dip, or any other kind of dip. Anything easy that won't keep you glued to the oven all day!

Have fun!!!

Little smokies are always great! Just put 3 lbs in a crock pot, add catalina dressing- enough to make it a little saucy and a splash (or 2 or 3) of liquid smoke. Cook on low for about 3 hours. Yummy!

A really easy thing to do is buy frozen meatballs and put them in a crockpot with your favorite bbq sauce. Let it slow cook all day and it comes out great! You also don't have to worry about putting something else in the oven. I have 2 crockpots and if you are using the chili in one, just ask a neighbor to borrow one of theirs. Have a great party!!

allrecipes.com has some good ones. I think wings, dips chips, and maybe meet and cheese trays with crackers or finger sandwiches would be great! Make them ahead of time and put them in the fridge! Have a good party!

Appetizers--they are easy to eat! Dips and party platters are great with a crowd. I don't know if you have a Market Street United in your area, but if you do, they have great party trays, sandwhich platters, veggie and fruit platters, etc. Good Luck! Go Giants!!

Hello,

I have served bacon wrapped stuffed jalepenos. Wear gloves and cut jalepenos length wise and remove the seeds, stuff the jalepenos with cream cheese and then wrap half a slice of bacon around them. You can use a toothpick to hold everything together and place in 350 degree oven for 20 minutes or until bacon is cooked. I have had some friends add different seasonings to the cream cheese to give it a different twist. The appetizer is not spicy because the seeds are removed. This is easy and quick and tastes great.

Armadillo eggs! The guys love them. Get whole pickled jalapeno, slice them lenght wise, take the seeds and vains out. Then put a square of mozzarella cheese in the jalapeno. Take some Owen sausage and press it out like a hamburger patty. Wrap the jalapeno with just enough sausage to form the smallest ball possible. Make all of the balls, then roll them in Pork Shake n Bake. Bake the balls in a 350 degree oven for about 15-20 minutes. You can serve this with a some ranch dressing for dipping if they are too spicy. Also, make sure you were gloves when handling the jalapenos. Try to make sure the when you put them on the baking sheet, the part with the cheese is facing up, if not when the cheese melts it will ooze out. Good luck!
