Super Suppers or Dream Dinners?

My sister in law's husband is being shipped off to Iraq for a year. She has a 2 year old and another one due in July. She is going to have her hands full and I'm worried she won't feed herself properly. So, I thought I would get her a gift certificate to either Super Suppers or Dream Dinners. I have 2 questions: which one is better and do you know if the serving sizes are going to be small enough for one person. Or is she just going to waste a bunch of food? Any other ideas are appreciated as well.

I go to Dream Dinners and LOVE it. It does take time to go in and actually prepare the meals though. The smallest serving size is 3. This would feed her and her 2 year old twice. I like going and make the meals but she may not have time? Everything I have tried is very good.

I haven't used either of these but I did use At Home Dinners when I was on bedrest with my twins. The food was awesome and healthy, the serving sizes started at 2 and could be kept frozen til you used them, and they posted their menu monthly so I would look it up online, call and order it, and my husband would just pop in and pick it up. You could also go in and make it or whatever, too, but you didn't have to. It seemed like I read recently that one of the other chains had started doing call in orders, too. Sounds like a great idea for her situation!

I have done Diet Gourmet in the past and loved it. The food is delivered and is delicious. They are located in Addison. I don't know where your sister in law lives, because I don't know how far they do deliver. Check them out at dietgourmet.com

I use The Dinner Station (they have multiple locations) and they are great. Their half size servings feed 3.... and sometimes more depending on the item. Casseroles for 3 stretch out to 5 servings in my house.

I have been wanting to try Super Suppers myself as they have one day a month where you can come in and buy the meals already prepared at discount proces. I think its called Stock the freezer day. That way you dont have to make the time to come in and prepare the stuff. I also use A. Food Ministries. It helps with meal planning for us and saves us a TON of money on our food bill as well and we have yet to have something from them we dont like. The veggies are even fresh veggie they freeze rather than just canned veggies. They use churches to "host" them since evey city has a church but there isnt any prosolyting on their part if you want to order the food. There is no paperwork no qualifying or anything. ANYONE can order and order as much as you want too. There are no additional taxes here either so than SMALL amount is really what you pay for ALL that food! I do that and then will get a few of the cassaroles from super supper right before my next child is born for "quicker nights". www.angelfoodministries.com

I have tried both Super Suppers and AtHome Dinners and am now a firm AtHome Dinners addict. I think AtHome Dinners is much better than Super Suppers. That is where my family pretty much gets all of our dinners now. Most of the time I just call in my order of 12 half-size meals and go pick it up, but every now and then I also go in with my girlfriend and we spend about an hour putting together meals and gabbing. Which is a lot of fun. AtHome dinner meals are so tasty, especially the chicken marsala and the blackened chicken alfredo. And they are all relatively healthy and low-fat, well, maybe not the blackened chicken alfredo, but pretty much everything else is.
The half-size meals feed myself, my husband and my two-year old and a lot of times we have some leftovers.
