So I think it would be fun to have a chili cook off for our super bowl party. I'm trying to think of the wording for our Evite. I want people to come and have fun, but I don't want people to think they have to bring Chili in order to come.
Any suggestions?
Something like:
We will be having a chili cook-off... do you have the best chili in town? Bring your best chili if you want to enter.
Whether or not you bring chili, we need plenty of people to help judge the chili... bring your spoon! (And fire extinguisher!)
"Come to our Super Bowl Chili Cook-Off! Choose to be a cook or a judge. Either way, you'll be glad you came!"
Don't use the words "Chili Cook Off."
Because, that will, "imply" that they have to bring Chili, too, and/or that it is a pot-luck and/or that they will have to cook at the party to make their chili for the "Chili Cook Off." Because the invite states "Chili Cook Off...."
Just call it a Super Bowl party.
Or just say, IF they want to compete in the Chili Cook off, to bring their favorite Chili dish.
But it is not necessary to attend.
Maybe call it the 'Super Chili Bowl Party'?
