I have had good luck getting smells out of things by adding 1 cup of vinegar to the wash load and wash as normal. Vinegar does wonders.

I got some dark wash jeans from Target-same problem. I wasn't going to mess around with finding a way to make it go away. I washed them once, it didn't go away, so I returned them. They are defective, they need to take them back. I found a good dark wash at Macy's that doesnt smell funny.

Yeah, there's a dye that manufacturers are using to make black jeans that seems to cause a lingering sulfur smell after washing.
From what I could find about it (haven't done this myself), wash as usual but use no fabric softener.
When the final rinse cycle begins, add 1/2 cup vinegar into your wash machine then let it finish rinsing.
Dry as usual and the sulfur smell should be neutralized.

Hello, I have the same problem. I bought two pairs of Levi's from Kohls and I have washed them several times and the smell won't go away. I will check and see what responses you get.
Good luck.

That's strange. I wonder if it is the dye used. Try white distilled vinegar in the next wash. Also you can look for Borax or Arm and Hammer Super Washing Powder (not baking soda). Use about 1/4 cup vinegar and 1/4 borax/arm and hammer. If you only have vinegar just start with that. Good luck!

wash them one more time but soak first in vinegar and baking soda. Then let them dry outside. I have had very good luck getting smells out of clothes this way.

I had a similar problem with a jacket I bought so here is what I did and it seems to work Fill you washer with your soap and then put a little ammonia in the water then put your jeans and let them go through the cycle dry as usual and see if that doesn't help

I had that happen, as well. I washed the jeans more times than I care to count and could NEVER get that smell out! I ended up donating them. Best of luck to you... :)
