Stroller for DisneyWorld

We are planning a trip to DisneyWorld. I have a 4yr old and a 1.5yr old. We have a doublestroller that we take everywhere and my 4yr old even stays put and likes it. So... should we bring our own double stroller (Chicco) or should we rent the kind they have at the park? Reason why I ask... is because I have heard that you have to leave your stroller far away from the rides. I don't want anyone to mess/take it. Also, can you bring your own drinks/food in if you bring your own stroller? Thanks!!!

Definitely bring your own stroller. If you are staying on site it can be a hike from your hotel room to the bus depot. If you will be taking Disney transportation then I recommend having 2 strollers that are very light weight and easy to collapse for getting on and off the busse, boats and monorail. I also recommend tying bright red ribbon on your stroller so it is easy to spot. The strollers do get moved by cast members (to be closer to the exits) but I never had a problem finding my stroller with the red ribbon:). Have fun!!!

Bring your own...it will save a ton of money. I am assuming that the chicco folds up well and can get on and off transporation easily. But you donot want to wait in another line just to rent a stoller. People do not mess with the strollers.....and if they did, they could also with a rented one. And the stroller parking is not too far from rides. Bring as much food and drinks in as you wish!

I also say bring your own. If you are really worried about someone taking it (it happened to my friend at Sea World), bring a bike chain to either lock the wheels together or to chain it to a fence. And don't leave anything valuable in it when you go on rides.

Bring your own and be sure to park it in the areas marked "stroller parking". Most of these areas have attendants that will move them to make more space for other people. I have always brought our stroller and I have never had a problem with anything missing. There are also cameras EVERYWHERE in all the parks.

Definitely bring your own. The one they rent is not only around 12-15 dollars a day. It looks and seems very uncomfortable. I ended up purchasing one they sold there, not thinking I would need one at the time. But the walking was just too much for my 4 year old. It was more comfy and I was able to use it for other parts of the vacation. I parked the stroller at every ride and no one ever messed with it. There are a lot of strollers and lots of people leave them behind.

As for food and drinks, yes you can bring anything you want aside from alcoholic beverages. If you do bring them in a bag, it will have to be searched but no big deal. We brought water and snacks every day we went to the park.

Have fun!

Bring your own. If it's comfortable and your kids like it, just bring it. They will spend a lot of time in it.

I have never done DisneyWorld, but we have gone a couple dozen times to Disneyland and my own stroller was always fine. Never stolen, messed with, damaged, etc.

I would bring your own - it will be helpful when you have to go from the monorail to the park, or if you are parking in the parking lot, getting to the tram and then the monorail. The only thing is, you'll have to get the kids out and be able to collapse it down, then unfold it again. Usually people try to ID their strollers (whether they rent or bring their own) with a special balloon or similar but typically people don't mess around with them. One trick I heard was to soak a diaper in root beer, stick it in a plastic bag, then tie the bag to the stroller handle - no one will mess with it then!

Yes, you can bring your own drinks and snacks. We've always backed a back pack with some bottled water, granola bars, bananas, peanut better sandwiches, etc. and have never had a problem. Good luck and have fun!

Bring your own. Nobody will take it, EVERYONE parks their strollers outside the rides. Of course keep your purse with you at all times! Have fun :)

Nobody will take your stroller at Disney. I would bring it . It is around $30 a day to rent one there. If you are flying, you can check it right at the gate. The only inconvenience is getting it off and on the bus if you are staying on property. You have to be the last one on the bus with the stroller. I got on with the kids and got seats and my hubby would have to get on last and stand with it near the driver. He didn't mind because it saved a pile and gave us room for our stuff. have a magical trip !

Hi K.,

I live in FL - we take two umbrella type, cheap strollers. That way if one kid needs a diaper and the other needs something else, we can accomodate that. I've never had anyone mess with either stroller. We do have cheapo strollers but they both have smallish baskets and sun canopy. We have left diaper bag in stroller and always have a cooler or two with us. Have also left jackets/sweatshirts in winter months. I wouldn't leave a phone, iPad, camera, etc in the stroller though.

Don't rent the one in the park - too uncomfortable and really adds up in cost if you are there for several days. Bring your own food and drinks! C.

You can buy a stroller and just leave it for the amount it costs. Plus you cannot take the strollers out of the park. So if you need it anywhere else you will be carrying your kids. Finally they are hard plastic so it is challenging for a kid to doze off.

Another option to consider is to rent one from a company in Orlando and they bring it to your hotel. Then you don't have the hassle of the airplane.

Bring your own. You can take food and drink into the park in a soft cooler. We just went to Disney for the first time last month. It's an experience! Have fun.

We bring a double stroller everywhere--large zoos, Sea World, museums. We've never had a problem with it being tampered with or someone trying to take it. If you are really worried about it, you could always get a stroller lock for it.

Furthermore, if you are flying, it is REALLY great to be able to have both kids safely confined in the stroller as you navigate the terminal, rental cars, hotels, etc.
