So I have finally decided to lose all my baby weight.. Well in doing so I have really started to notice my stretch marks.. They are on my side and my tummy and even on my legs.. Is there anyway to get rid of them? Or atleast make them not so noticable.. I will one day want to wear a bikini again.. I don't want my whole body to be covered in stretch marks :(

What can I do next?

the girl at the maternity store said her doctor swore by vaseline. She said she had been rubbing vaseline into her stretch marks and they were remarkedly better.

i have stretch marks that are horrible from my first pregnancy and i have 3 kids now so i have gone through 3 pregnancies and i have noticed that as you loose weight and get skinnier the stretch marks shrink and become less noticable but there is no way to get rid of them completely! but with my last pregnancy i used palmers stretch mark lotion it seemed to help a little but i know ill never be able to wear a bikini again so hopefully you will find somethin that works if you do let us know! :) Best of Luck!

I used bio-oil like crazy my entire stomach was covered by 7 months and they all faded by the time she was 6 months

Mine have faded a lot but are still there (and the texture is different because of the thickness of the marks). I lost more than my baby weight and that did not affect them at all, but I felt a lot better with the muscle tone and being more fit. I have never aspired to a bikini, but I know women who have after having kids, so I'm sure you'll be able to if you put your mind to it. Tanning or some other kind of skin cream might help for the summer (like a bronzer), but in the meantime just keep hydrated and moisturized. I expect to start all over after this baby. I've never personally considered mine a badge of honor, but think it is nice when women do. I just consider it one of those things that happens to your body when you have children, and I'll make the most of what's left of me. :)

I'm 9 months and already have stretch marks on my breasts and thighs :( So far I've only gained about 21 lbs. so I don't really understand why there are so many, but when I was younger and going through puberty I got them as well. I tried using Palmers to prevent them, but obviously it hasn't done much. From what I've read, there's not much you can do but wait until they fade (they never go away completely). There's always plastic surgery, but personally I would avoid such a drastic procedure for such a little problem.

Nothing you can do but time. Sorry. Invest in a good one piece suit. I am just about 3 years out from my son (my second) and my stretch marks are finally just a light pink, instead of bright purple, and I've lost almost all the weight. I saw a dermatologist and she said there are no real options.

Sorry to be such a downer. It's a huge bummer. Those that say "wear those stretch marks with pride" might not look like they gave birth to a zebra ; ) All that said, the only time it matters is bathing suit season, and I've found some ways to look good and cover up the lines. Good luck.

They'll fade until they're only faint silvery lines in your tan. Or there's plastic surgery. It's pretty much either/or.

I have gazillions of them. (I doubled my weight when preggers). The ones on areas like my legs and arms and upper abdominal area are next to invisible (the light has to hit them just right, even when I'm tan), but my stomach got so huge (I was the size of an average triplet/quad mum), that the skin never bounced back. So those are there for good/ until I get an abdominoplasty.
