Hi There,

Hopefully someone out there knows which one of these stretch mark creams out on the market might actually work. There are so many that it is absolutely confusing, and I am totally uncertain as to whether they will really work or not. If anyone can personally recommend one I would greatly appreciate the input!

Hi K.,
When I was pregant, I used Palmer's cocoa butter cream religiously twice a day. I never got any new stretch marks. I had some old ones on my hips and they did not get any better, but hthey did not get worse and I no new ones started. I was really pleased. it is nice also because it smells like vanilla. Anytime I felt like my skin was stretching I would just rub it on.

I used a product called Timeless, that has been amazing! It is made by Nicole Miller, and can be purchased at her boutiques, but I have also found that I can buy it at about 40% less if I purchase it through Melaleuca. In case you haven't heard of them, they are a unique manufacturer of safer, healthier products for your family and home. If you want to know more, feel free to email me at ____@____.com or call me at ###-###-####, and I can get you more information. Congratulations on your baby!

Hi, when I was pregnant I used "Palmers Cream For Stretch Marks" it has the silouette of a pregnant women on the front. I could only find it at WallGreens but I've seen it several places since. The nurse in the delivery room even commented to another one that I didn't have any stretch marks so I know that it did work for me. I put it on 2 or 3 times day. If you have any questions don't hesitate to email me. And contratulations on being pregnant.

K.,

I am a research and development scientist for a cosmetic company. There is really no cosmetic or other product that will prevent stretch marks. Susceptibility to stretch marks seems to be genetic. If your mother got stretch marks in pregnancy than there is the likely chance that you will too. If she still has a smooth belly, then your chances are looking pretty good. A good moisturizer will probably do you the most good.

I have always been told that stretch marks are hereditary. If your mom had them you will no matter what. Also, what I hear is The body shop has shea butter cream that really works. I didn't try it because my mom didn't have stretch marks and neither did I.

I used cocoa butter and when I got tired of that I used Shea butter from Bath and Body Works. I only have three tiny marks on my tummy, however I should have used more on my breasts---that is where I got marks pretty bad. My doctor says the main way to reduce marks is to watch how much you gain and how quickly you gain. That was true for me--just don't know how to do that in the chest area. THere are two different lotions at Bath and Body with Shea---I used one for a while and then the other just to give me variety.

Hey K.,
My research into this pretty much all said that stretch marks, and whether or not you get them, is pretty much genetic, like keloid scarring. However, my stretch mark cream experience was that Palmer's stretch mark cream faded my stretch marks the best. And it's cheap! I also tried 9 months (smelled horrible!) and some Belly Butter that I got as a shower gift (smelled great but no noticable difference), so I gotta go with Palmer's. I bought my sister a tube when she got pregnant, and she is six months with no stretch marks yet!! And she does get them, she has some older ones on her hips. So, give it a try!

I was pregnant with twins and used a product called "Mothers Friend" it is made by S.S.S. Company out of Atlanta Georgia. A friend of mine who used it thru three pregnancies without any stretch marks recomended I use it.I used the body skin cream ( it also come in an oil) from my first trimester and after I had my girls for about six weeks. After all was said and done I have three very small stretch marks. It is an over the counter item but it is normally kept in the pharmacy. I was able to get it from Sams Pharmacy, they had the lowest price but I also got it from Wallgreens and Walmart Pharmacy. The best thing about it, each 4oz contaitner cost about $4 to $7. Congratulations, and lots of luck.
