Hi D.,
I know someone who might be able to work for you, but she wouldn't be available until mid-end of Feb and she charges $11/hr. Have you tried Craig's List? (www.craigslist.com)

I am in need of childcare or preferably a nanny to care for my soom to be 8-week old son. I live on Northwest Side of Chicago near Niles/Norridge. I am looking to stay at $250/WEEK. I work full time and my Maternity leave is almost over. Help!

i think I answered you once .Do you work near where you live.
I live in Oak Park and have an opening my weekly rate is $175
I am sorry I don't know of any childcare centers in your area but I think that is your best option.
I do not think you can find a full time nanny/sitter for 250 a week - Nannies usually asked for at least 450 to 500 a week unless maybe they are watching other children at the same time.
I hope you are able to find somthing.
Hello D.,
You might want to try Green Tree located in Rosemont. I visted there a while ago and it was a really great environment for infants and toddlers. The rates (I think) are about 250/week, but you shoudl double check. THey are located at Higgins/Mannheim. Good Luck.
Have you tried the Northside Parents Network? Just google it to find the website...they have a great discussion board where people are constantly referring nannies and babysitters. You have to join but it's worth it.
Good Luck!
D.,
I am in Oak Park so not sure if this will be helpful or not. If you are still looking and in a pinch, maybe we could work something out?
I have a nursery set up in my office in Forest Park where Crystal, my son's babysitter, watches him while I work. Maybe we could share?
I was terrified when I first had our son and wanted to make sure he was loved and well cared for, so I sympathize with your position.
Let me know if I can help or help until you find something else.
Sincerely,
Jessica

I was also wondering all that the nanny potion intales. house work?? etc? I would realy love an opportunity to meet with you and hope this would work out. If not please let me know as well thank you
Hi D., What have you decided to do? I did find the woman on Mamasource and I talked to her recommendation. $500/wk CASH was her going rate. That is almost as much as I make. I am going to be looking myself and I am not looking forward to the searching process. I have always had a nanny for 350/wk. I hope I can still find that rate out here. Please let me know what you have decided. Did you contact any of the schools or Pioneer Press? Looking forward to hearing from you. By the way, I am a mom of 3. I live at Harlem and Grand. My mother-in-law lives on Devon and Central so I am always driving right by your home. My third is 8 months old. If you ever want a playdate, even on Sat. Email me at ____@____.com or call me at ###-###-####. I know what it is like to be a single mom. I don't know if you have family out here, but I went through three years and two infants without my husband around(he was working at our restaurant around the clock). Really, if you need help, someone to hangout with or someone to watch the little one occassionally so you can get somethings done, call me. We can get to know each other while our little ones play.
