So What Happened?

So, i happen to go to the hospital cause i was tired of waiting for the results. I went to the e.r. And they did some blood work, and some ultrasound, (belly and vaginal) so it happens to be that i have fibroids, i think i only have one, so im going still to my appointment with my physician on friday for a follow up, is it painful to have them remove? Or has any of u have these?

I don't know if this will help, but I bled for quite awhile after giving birth. My gyn finally did an ultrasound and they determined that some of the placenta was still inside. They gave me some oral medication to break it up and after that the bleeding went away.

I am sorry that you are going through this. I just wanted to tell you to make sure that you are getting enough iron. I hope the dr can help you soon!

It could be a number of things. Make sure you are taking a multivitamin and also getting plenty of iron. Follow up with your doctor until you find out what is causing this and get it under control. I've gone through what you are going through many times. And, like I said, it could be a number of things causing it. Sometimes, you need to be very persistent with the doctor in order to get it cleared up. Have you ever had a d&c done? I had my period once for 41 days and the d&c results came back with a hormonal imbalance...no fun. Most recently, I went through it again, but it was because I was put on birth control pills that did not agree with my system, so I bled 6 weeks straight. I've also had many ovarian cysts and they too cause havoc like abnormal bleeding and are painful.
Hopefully, it's just your system readjusting itself, mine did that too after I had a baby. I had a period that lasted one month.

Hope this helps..some:)

I would get an appt for tomorrow or at least call your gyn. It might be nothing to be concerned about. My period was never that long maybe 2-4 days total.

Well, first if I were you I would start creating a daily journal of all your symptoms. This way you can bring this into the doctor and show him everything between now and the appointment. Write down each day and how you feel each day. Bloated? Lack of energy? Etc. Then write what your period was like and how many pads/tampons you went through. Write about the clots and what their sizes are (using coin sizes as an example - "today clots were as big as a quarter")

She/he needs to know all of this.

Second, ask for a phone consult - you should be able to at a minimum talk to your doctor and let him/her know your fears about getting the results that late (month and half is pretty late in my opinion).

Clots are not a big deal, UNLESS they are large and alot! Then you should go to the ER asap.

Ask him if you should take some extra iron (especially if you are breastfeeding).

Did you get an information packet on policystic ovarian syndrome? Most times they will hand those out even if they suspect you have it - not even knowing for sure. Ask him for that or search it on WebMD.

Also, in your journal - you should be writing down questions to ask him at your next appointment.

I'm not a nurse or a doctor, but sometimes you just need to ask about all your angles and reaching out to other moms helps.

Good luck and God bless.

No need to freak out, dear. Get yourself to your local acupuncturist--one who also uses herbal medicine--and you will rectify the imbalance within a short time. That's definitely preferable to getting a medical "label" and being stuck on meds unnecessarily for the rest of your life. Best of luck to you!

I don't know if this helps...I kind of had problems following your starts and stops. I had a problem when I was off of my birth control where I bleed for weeks. My OBGYN told me to take 100 mg of Motrin per hour. After a few days of that it stopped. Now some Doctors don't agree with that and alot of people can't take Motrin, but that is what worked for me. Also, DON'T just sit and wait for your Doctor to get results back. I agree to keep a journal and if you are really concerned, call your Doctor or go to a different one. Constant bleeding can be an indicator for a bigger problem. It seems to me that waiting 2 months for some test results seems like a really long time.
Best of Luck

policysistic ovarian syndrome could totally be the culprit of these things. PCOS can be a painful and frustrating condition I know a couple people who have it and it can totally mess with you physcially and mentally. Do a little reading on it maybe so you can know what to expect if it turns out you do have it.

This happened to me after I had my daughter. The first period I had was when she was 10-months old and it lasted for about a month or so. It was annoying but finally stopped and then I didn't have another period until I stopped nursing when she was 15 months. At that time they regulated and went back to normal(well normal for me). On the flip side, this didn't happen after I had my second child.

So in the meantime up your iron intake so you don't become anemic and see what your doctor has to say next week.
