I used to rub a little lotion in my hands (any kind), then run my hands through my hair - it was quick, easy and seemed to work.

Spray a hair brush with hair spray and immediately brush hair. Rub a dryer sheet on her hair when it is dry. Also use the dryer sheet on her coat and hat.

I haven't tried this yet because my girls' hair hasn't been crazy with static yet this year, but on Rachel Ray's Tips show awhile back they said to spray your brush down with static guard (like what you use for your clothes) and that'll take care of it. At least it being caused by your hairbrush. :)

Wipe her hair with a dryer sheet takes the electricity right out. Stick it in her pocket and reapply as needed works on skirts and pant sticking to nylons too. Bonus did you know in the summer dryer sheets work to keep mosquitos away, hide it under your hat (guys) or in your pocket, put it in the bottom of a baby stroller.

Run a dryer sheet over it. In high school I used to keep one in my locker to tame my static mane. It works great.

Hi J.! I have had the same problem with MY hair all my life! And now my daughter is afflicted as well. :)

I have found that lotion and conditioner are greasy, detangler leaves my hair dull, misting it with water doesn't last long....etc. I had tried everything!

Now I use an Aveda product called Hang Straight.I had origionally bought it to help keep my hair manageable. It works so well and you only need a TINY dab, rub it in your hands and then run your hands lightly over the hair. It can be used wet or dry. I use it on me as well as on my 3 year old.

Good luck!

Get some Paul Mitchell leave in conditioner, it is a turquoise blue color. Pick it up at a beauty supply store or salon, the salon products you see in discount stores are bootleg products and you cannot be sure of what is in the bottle. This conditioner is a bit pricy but lasts a long time. You need to use an amount about the size of a pea or smaller. Put it in the palm of your hand and rub hands together then through the wet hair, and comb as normal. This stuff works great and it doesn't make the hair look greasy.

You can use a leave in spray conditioner like Johnson and Johnson and that should help a bit.

Make sure you use conditioner when you wash it. But for the crazy static, just a tiny amount of lotion rubbed between your hands then smoothed overtop of her head and hair. Works like a charm.

There are also some things you can do to try to prevent it. In the winter we use a humidifier, only wash hair once a week, drink a lot of water, and take fish or flax oil. This seems to help (I have 3 girls).

I've read that you can use a dryer sheet on their hair... I've never tried it, so I'm not totally sure if it works or not. We use "morning miracle"- you can get it at Snip-its. It's like a light spray in mousse that tames their bed-head. Good luck!

Some have mentioned using antistatic dryer sheets and rubbing one gently across the hair could help to reduce the static issue. My family has tried it and it does seem to help. But make sure it is unscented or not a bothersome scent. Also look for a moisturizing shampoo or conditioner could help also. I would like to hear others comments too!
