My kid's seem to really have static hair lately. What can I do to help with this problem? I notice when they sit on our leather furniture and put their heads up against the back, they seem to always have static hair. What can I do to the furniture or their hair to help with this? My son's seems more constant than my daughters. It's weird...Thanks Mamas.

What can I do next?

I keep static guard around the house. You can spray it on furniture or blankets before your child snuggles up. That might cut some of the electricity. When I am out with my kids and notice their hair is sticking to their winter jackets (this drives my youngest CRAZY!) I actually put a little bit of hand cream on my hands, rub it in, then lightly touch my daughter's hair. I'm not actually putting the cream in her hair. but somehow the cream on my hands does enough to keep the hair from flying all around.

Hair detangler spray in the morning. If you're out and about, I do the hand lotion thing too.

In the winter, I carry around a used dryer sheet stuffed in my coat pocket. If my hair gets static, I just lightly rub it down with the dryer sheet. Smells good too!

We have the same problem, living in dry Colorado. I happened to mention it to my hairdresser. She asked what kind of shampoo I use. I told her the kid stuff with conditioner. She said static is just a sign telling you it is too dry and to use adult conditioner on their hair. We havent had a problem since I started using it. BTW, conditioner does not sting if it gets in their eyes (it is the adult shampoo that does).

Carry some Bounce dryer sheets with you and rub them on their hair. That will help when you are out of the house, at least!

you can spray hair spray on their brush before you brush their hair. If that's not enough you can spay their hair with some of it and it should help.

some conditioners will be anti-static and also clean your brushes/comb with some shampoo get the old gunk off. Plus the bounce dryer sheets work great.
