when you cross from MO to IL, the signs are on the bridges over the Mississippi River! & I noticed when we did the Smokies this summer, there are signs in the park. Have fun.
does anybody know if there is a website that shows you locations of state signs? we are going to be going through MO, IL, KY, TN, NC and SC maybe a little trip to GA... I'd like to be able to stop and take Paxton's pic like we did for our trip to Arkansas and Missouri, the signs were on back roads though not highways. making it easier to stop. I wish they would put off ramps/rest areas by state signs so you have the opportunity to take pics, not just as you're driving by.

My husband and I travel a lot....both interstates and the more interesting 2 lane roads. If you are on an interstate...or other state highway, you should be able to tell by the milemarkers on the road, how close you are coming to the state line. The State Line will be the division between numbers so the numbers will be changing at the line. You may need to do a few u turns, simply because the sign comes up too quickly for you to react and get stopped in time. But keep your map out and you will be able to tell...because the state line marker is going to be on the STATE LINE!!!
Enjoy your trip...makes lots of wonderful memories for your son!!

C.,
I don't know where the signs are, but I wanted to tell you what a cute idea I thought that is and you've given me a plan for our trip to Florida...Thanks!
