I have my own in home now, what exactly do u want to know?
Hi C.!
I have an inhome daycare and its been great for me! I was going through a divorce and wanted to continue to stay at home with my kids and still earn a living. You will have to fill out some paperwork including a background check. Then you need to take a class to become either listed (watching 3 kids), registered (6 little ones and 6 school age kids), or licensed (12 little ones). You need to call the Texas Department of Family Services ###-###-#### right away and sign up for the class that you need to take. They don't offer them that regularly and they fill up fast so do that first. Once you take the class and the paperwork is all in, they will come and inspect your house. Then you can open for business. Your name gets put on the TDFS website so people looking for daycare can find you that way. Mamasource has also been great for me ~ I get calls all the time from people looking for daycare. When I first got started, I went to a couple of the schools and asked the front office to post a flyer in the teachers area. The counselor at one of them was looking when I went in and I got a lot of referrels through her. Teachers kids are great because they have the best hours!!!! Anyway, I hope this helps give you an idea of what you need to do. Also, once you get registered you probably will want to sign on with a food program. You get a certain amount of money back every month by following some basic and EASY guidlines. I use Southwest which has been great the four years I have been doing it. Let me know if there is anything I can help you with or you have any questions. www.kidsinbloom.blogspot.com is my website and my email address is ____@____.com
