Do you have any hair wax with the strips to pull it off? If the splinter is out at al it could work. I saw a doctor use it for cactus splinters.
Hi Mamas. I need some advice on getting a splinter out of my 11-year-old's heel. We've been soaking it and picking at it with tweezers, but just can't get the end to pop out. Thanks for any advice!
Thanks, Amanda, for the link, and thanks everybody for all the good advice. We kept soaking it on and off and eventually got it out -- with a lot of picking. I was looking for a quick fix, but we really just needed to keep working on it. It was a pretty big splinter. Thanks!

For next time, this is an old wive's tale but it works for us. Take a small amount of bread and soak it in milk. Lay it on the splinter with a bandaid covering it. Let it stay on all night and in the morning it will either be disolved or you will be able to lift it right out. Sometimes it takes 2 nights but it actually works! Go figure!
Do the milk soak then clean it dry it and cover it with duct tape pull the tape off in the direction the spinter should come out.
if a splinter comes in the future just use duct tape it works really.
You could try using a (sterilized) needle (regular sewing needle). Sometimes they work better than tweezers because they have a sharper point.
Best of luck,
R.
For future reference if it happens again, try a little vaseline on the splinter and bandage it over night. Vaseline is a drawing agent and will draw the splinter out.
You probably should take him to the dr. In case an infection has set in or a callous grew over the splinter.
Dear Bobbi, If my kids get a splinter I usually sterlize a needle and work at it very gently. If you open the skin a little and work at the splinter it should come right out. Good Luck.
The last time this happened with my daughter I had her lay down and wear headphones listening to music to help her relax. I then put a very bright light next to her foot so I could see and used a sterilized sewing needle to pick the object out, along with tweezers. If you are very gentle you should be able to get it out with little pain. It's also helpful to soak his foot in water before doing this. I hate it when this happens, it's the worst!
Are you sure it is a splinter? We dug at a "splinter" on my sons foot for a long time and then realized it was a plantars wart! It was a dark speck that looked like a splinter that went almost straight in. It hurt him just like a splinter too. Just an idea. Good luck.
I had one in so far and it was a dickens to get out. I used the tweezers to push it from the bottom upwards just to it appears and then it can be pulled (hopefully!) Good luck.
