Hi Everyone,
We relocated to Boca Raton, FL this month and my 3 1/2 year old son had a speech therapist working with him back at home. He is sometimes hard to understand (sounds like babytalk) and needs help putting more complex sentences together. He had been improving his speech working with her so I want to continue the treatment here in Florida. He'll be 4 in November. If anyone knows of a speech therapist that works with children in Boca Raton, FL please send your suggestions to us!
Thanks!

Contact the public school district or the school that he will go to when he is 5 and able to start kindergarten and ask about services they offer then ask for a recommendation. The school district may even offer it to him at no cost thru the district, many states do this in the public schools. Hope this helps. Good luck to him Mom

There is an organization called Child Find through the Palm Beach county school system that will evaluate your child and if they find that he needs therapy will then put him into a speech therapy program through the school system for free. Great program to look into, but the process takes several months. Just an FYI!

I would suggest you find a preschool in your area and ask them............they usually have that type of information..........or go to a park and ask around.........if you can talk to some Moms.........you might also contact the nearest childrens hospital.

Take care and good luck.

Are you near a college? Many colleges have speech therapist programs that require them to work with children. The therapy is usually less expensive as he would be working with a graduate but they are always supervised by their professors. I found this to be a great way to increase the speech therapy my son was getting.

Contact a early childhood intervention program and ask for resources. Your local MRA may have some great resources.
