Should one start a business in their spare time (legitimate of course) or simply use the time to relax and enjoy.

What can I do next?

I think that would depend on a few things:
1) The personality of the person.
Does this person have the drive to start their own business. It's not easy.
2) Their family's needs and desires.
I think it is important to make sure the entire family is on board, because there will be times where it will not be easy.
3) Their financial situation.
Is there extra money to start the business or will it take money away from the regular household budget.

Just my two cents,
R.

It depends on what a person's long term goal is! If they have plans to make this business a major source of income and employment, then they may want to start it in their spare time while they have other employment to pay bills. Every person needs a level of balance in his/her life. I think if you are well organized and have a goal --you can do both - it may take a little longer and you will have to make some sacrifices. Good luck

If you really need the extra cash then I would try working from home. I work with a great company and make extra money from home. I do not work alot of hours doing it. I do it when my daughter is sleeping. A couple of hours in the morning before she gets up and then again when she takes her nap. I usually work anywhere from 5-20 hours a week with no weekends. This is a legit job. But it is also not a get rich quick. You need to work at it just like a normal out of home job but with less stress. Hi M.,
That depends. Do you desperately need the money? If so, then many people do take on a second job - but keep in mind that running your own business often eats up more time than you might think or want to devote to it. If you don't really need a second job, you may not want all of your free time (and possibly your not free time) eaten up. When I had my own businesses or did freelance work, that work was often not neatly scheduled into the time that I had allotted for it.

If you need the money, go for it. However, I would guess you won't make
anything that first year. If you have young children and it will take up too
much time, hold off. Only you can decide.

I have that if you have the time and it is not taking away from something else then it is a good idea. You need to have a plan. Asking yourself why are you doing this and what are you trying to accomplish? Once you figure that out it will help you decide if it is a good idea or not to start a business in your spare time. And exactly what kind of business you should do..

Hope this helps
