My son wants a "long green snake cake" for his birthday. Any idea who would be able to do something like this? I think Tom Thumb etc. just do square sheet cakes. We live in Far North Dallas but willing to drive to get the right cake!!! Also, I want to use "green" "snake" as the theme. Anybody got cool "green" "snake" ideas to make this fun? (goody bags, ballons, invitations)?
Busy Little Bee's Cakes out of McKinney. She did a scultped 1/4 sheet cake for me and "threw in" some cupcakes (1 dozen at no extra charge) to make up for the cake she cut away AND delivered it for well under what other places wanted to charge. I will be using her again for my son's party, not only for the price but for the wonderful decorations, taste and moistness.

I don't know if you want to make it yourself or have it done, but either way, I would consider using cupcakes. I know the Super Target by my house does many "cakes" using cupcakes and they're all pretty cute.
I don't have much to contribute to the theme question - I usually do a google search and see what pops up to inspire me. The only thing I did think of is that song by Tom T. Hall called "Sneaky Snake". It's from the '70's I think, but I heard it not too long ago and it's catchy and the kids really liked it - especially the part that says "when he goes wiggling through the grass, it tickles his underneath".

You should contact Busy Little Bee's in McKinney. They are very reasonable and will deliver! They did a great job on multiple cakes I've had them make!
I have also used Michelle at Hands On Design for all of my daughter's cakes and they not only look amazing, they taste great! They are always a hit! She goes over and above to make sure it is exactly what you want.

Kroger is doing really cute things with cupcakes these days-- lining up cupcakes and covering them with a "sheet" of thick frosting. I would talk with them-- I have been very impressed with what they have had in the display case. I saw Christmas trees in December, and a butterfly cake the other day. It seems a long green snake of cupcakes should be pretty easy! I went to a birthday party recently where they brought out all sorts of "critters" including snakes-- not sure if you are interested in anything like that?
