We are having my son's birthday party on a saturday June9th with family and friends (a little house warming combined with the party for our new house). My question is his actual birthday is on June 6th and he will be at the day care on that day. Am I suppost to have a little party for him to at the day care??? (cake, party favors...etc) He was not in day care on his 1st birthday so i have no idea what would be the right thing to do.
Thanks ladies and have a wonderful mothers day!

Ask the daycare if they do anything special. Some places will let you bring a snack or cupcakes to share with his classmates.

I'd say that you don't HAVE to do anything.... but if you wanted to do something for his birthday at daycare, I'd just bring up maybe some cupcakes...and a balloon for everyone to leave with.... remember to KISS (keep it simple sister) :) There's time enough for stressing over the parties and such and when they're two... they don't even know what's really going on so I'd say you're all good! :)

Maybe some cupcakes or cookies, but I wouldn't worry about handing out goodie bags or anything. Just ask the day care coordinator what most people do and what they recommend.

I would do the cupcakes thing and pick him up early, if possible, as that is the best b-day present for them... more time with you.

Hi A.,

My son has always had his b-day at his school too and what I have found that is great (I do not invite any one from there to his normal b-day party)is Happy Cakes! I normally go to Wal-Mart or Kroger and get them to (check how the # of kids in his classroom) make me cup cakes w/the number of how old he is. He is about to turn 4 and so I will get them to make him x amount of cup cakes and make it look like a 4 and then I take them to school and the teacher does the rest. The have certain times for celebrations and that is what I do. Nothing fancy, but cute and really cheap! Wal-Mart did it and it turned out great! I chose lime-green last year for his 3 year old celebrarion. They loved it!

Email me and I can send you pictures. I had asked the teachers to take pictures of it.

For my daughter's 5th b-day at school. I talked to my daughter's teacher and she let me bake some cupcakes and brought them in. I know the rules is it has to be store bought but we talked if it would be okay with every other parent and about any allergies. What I did was get some stickers, pencils, and a lollipop and put them in a bag that my daughter decorated with some more stickers and her drawings.
